Corey Taylor Vocals are not slipping...if anything they are getting better as he sings with stone sour he can bring new shit to slipknot. Either way ive seen both bands live and they are both equally amazing but u can see the tension on stage during a slipknot concert which just brings all the anger of the music itself to life. Kudos to Corey Taylor and both his bands.

yeah that's what it makes me think...
anyway i liked them both Taylor is a great singer and he really knows how to get a crowd crazy ''slipknot''.Anyway i'm waiting for Slipknot new album hope is better than Vol.3... is not a bad album is just that i expected something better than that.

Pretty much. Also, with saying the slipknot situation drives him a little nuts. Hah in fairness, I thought Corey & Jim had quit 'Knot for some reason.
v_gamer - Okay, true, a lil tension at times is handy - which usually counts as 'must...not...balls..up!', but too much isn;t fun for any of 'Em.

If Slipknot was a nine guys on stage grabassing the whole time, it would not be the greatness we know as Slipknot. It'd be some sort of country band.

Slipknot uses their tension to create music.
Stone Sour has fun to create theirs.

And anyone that doesn't realize that Vol 3 was ****ing amazing needs to get their head checked.

I'm eagerly awaiting for the new edition of come what ever may

It's hardly news about the tension in slipknot I mean haven't they had to be held apart by security on stage at times and i read somewhere about an iron bar being thrown across the stage. I saw a live video from download a few years ago and someone had to walk on stage to give Chris his bat so he could play..... makes you wonder who's head he would have been playing baseball with. i get what people said abut the tension on stage brings out the anger in the music and stuff like that but could you honestly say that you'd play up there knowing there's 8 other people that could potentially start beating the crap out of each other at nearly any min..... count me out lol

speaking of them being stoned is it just me or does Jim sound stoned in most of the vids on here?

I'm guessin no one has seen the Voliminal DVD.. everyone in Slipknot absolutely loves the band and has mad respect for each other, but touring hundreds of cities for over a year stuck in a couple of buses would wear out anyone. They act like that cuz most guys in Slipknot just chill in their houses and hardly do anything when they're not in Slipknot, enjoying their time off.

to be honest
slipknot could go without a few members
itd add less to the band hatred factor
but no complaints, slipknot is my favorite band
hope the new album kicks subliminal verse's ass

egh, slipknot had a great run until vol.3, but still, fans are definately more crazy at a slipknot concert, because of how big corey takes it, i didnt see as much energy from the crowd at a stone sour concert even though the band seemed more into it... stone sour either needs to take it heavier in some songs or corey needs to get back into the slipknot gig, because stone sour concerts arent half the fun of a slipknot one, plus stone sour's come what(ever) may and slipknot's vol3 were both sorta weak, i dont think fans really cared for either of the albums, sort of a metallica "st anger" issue.

i see where your coming from with volume 3, i prefe their self titled, iowa days, but come whatever may is a brilliant album, the fact is slipknot arent young anymore, they've grown out of their mental show-boating style and just play for the fans with no interest in the music anymore, i see stone sour getting big, give it a couple of years

them saying that they avoid eachother strongly reminds me of the whole St. Anger thing, i mean i nthose vids it was like noone wanted to be there and corey and james sayin that just brings up that image, ot REALLY trying to bring up St. Anger, i just thought that i should point it out and see if people agreed with me.

There is a definate difference between the two, but they still have their similarities.

Slipknot does make awesome and intense songs, but what makes them great is their attitude. Their stage performance is crazy, they know how to get the crowd going, and not want to stop. They are not the most talented bunch of guys to ever go on stage, but they know how to make what they have work.
Another example of this is the misfits. They were not the most talkented, nothing against them, but what they really had was an insane attitude that kept them interesting.

Stone Sour is also a great band. I don't like them as much as Slipknot, but they are still really good. They are less about the attitude factor and more about the artsy, compose really great songs.

That is what I see of the two bands.

I say interview someone else from Slipknot.....because all the info we have been getting is from rock and rolls current star child Corey Taylor.....Interview Mick, or Joey or Paul for christ sake.
Maybe Taylor is avoiding them...

I understand where Corey's coming from when he says Slipknot can drive to a wierdness. What is that like 9 people to have to deal with when writing and rehearsing songs. That to me is an amazing feat in all its own. I like Stone Sour and I like Slipknot, but I like them seperate. Never will I purposley listen to Slipknot and Stone Sour on the same day. But yeah I know where Corey is coming from, and what you people have to understand is (I think)Corey was in Stone Sour before Slipknot picked him up. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know, I don't think they're in it for money. Watch the Voliminal DVD and listen to what they all say about it. I mean, there's 9 guys stuck with each other for months, and of course their personalities are gonna clash - that happens with three people. But, Slipknot is smart. They take breaks and let the tension go away until they're all eager to get back together and do it all over again. Seems to be working doesn't it?

ive heard that if your one of the first 368 to order that combo cd/dvd while standing on your head, and whistling "through the glass" naked, while all your relatives dance around you chanting "we love corey" you get a super-duper-special edition cd with one new song on it which consists of virtually 12 minutes of silence!

yes you are totally right slipknot and stone sour played battle of the bands in iowa de moines and then slipknot won ( whoop!) and slipknot had anders coliskini so joey shawn and paul went to the tatto parlor corey was working at and said "join our ****ing band our we will beat you up" and i mean corey joined anyway but the thing is if someone done that to you and you were working with them you woudlent for get that easily and nightmarejapan whoo would you like to listen to emo-shit or slipknot the only false metal around nowadays is korn. eurgh

Totally agree, Both are very heavy bands, and Stone sour have the carmness and melodic side, but nowa days Slipknot now tap in to that side of things, as well as they are in lead guitar lines as well as just riffing.

They grow every similar as well as ever apart in sum respects as the bands evolve.

slipknot is cool! but stone sour is more for people not fully into nu-metal! I like them both! but that just me! I listen to music by what mood i'm in, so if i'm mad and pissed off its Slipknot in my walkman and If i'm not to mad or just happy its Stone Sour! So I hope they make a one more slipknot cd and then stay with Stone Sour and make at least 2 more cd's

I love both bands, but Corey should stick with Slipknot. Why you ask? Because he's ugly, and a mask suits him much better than a shaven head. Hahaha.

And dado00, just had to correct you on a few things. Its Anders Colsefni (well that was his stage name, his real name is Andy Rouw), and Corey was working in an adult store, not a tattoo parlour. Other than that you were bang on with the facts, especially about Korn being false metal :p

Stone Sour is the less...umm...i duno, controversial band. I mean think of the amount of ppl in the world who think of some freaks in masks screamin the balls off themselves wen u mention the knot. Stone Sour are going to be bigger i think. Love both bands though.

I don't ****in' care who will be bigger. It's not about that,it's about what you think and that's all that matters. Do you ****in' think that either band is extremely popular!?! I mean sure they are,but to be honest nu metal sucks ass and the only reason slipknot is good is because people can somewhat relate to them. I don't see the point of masks or stage names, I mean it's suppose to be about the god damn music for Christ's sake not the image. I don't care if they go on stage dressed in ****in' diapers in nipple tassels, it's good sounding shit!!! Slipknot and Stone Sour rocks!!!!
