Stone Temple Pilots Ready Says Filter Former Bandmate

artist: stone temple pilots date: 04/10/2008 category: video news

Stone Temple Pilots played their first show in six years at the Houdini Mansion in Beverly Hills, California on Monday night, and it featured original members Weiland, drummer Eric Krets, and the Deleo brothers Dean on guitar and Robert on bass. STP as they are called is perhaps the biggest of the '90s bands when it comes to the hits. "Creep," "Vasoline," "'Interstate Love Song," and "Plush," are really just the tip of the iceberg as far as their commercial success, and they wheeled many out during their 30 minute warm-up set.

Filter's Richard Patrick, who just reunited his band, played with the Deleo brothers recently in Army Of Anyone. During a recent interview about Filter, we asked him how his former bandmates are getting along in STP and their first show.

Richard Patrick On The Return Of STP

"I didn't go to the show, but I heard it was great. I talked to Robert on Saturday. We're still very close friends. They were just at my baby shower in January, and we saw each other. They look great, and they're optimistic. I just want everyone to be healthy and just have a great time doing what they do. Stone Temple Pilots is obviously a wonderful band, and I'm going to go to as many shows as I can."

Filter is ready to hit the ground running as well. They are set to release Anthems For The Damned next month, and the first single from he set is "Soldiers Of Misfortune." Filter has been away for five years, and like Weiland, Patrick had his own substance abuse problems. His was with alcohol.

Mockingbird girl is a cool song. I'm glad that they're all getting along. I think a STP Filter show would be great.
