Taking Back Sunday Vs The Color Fred

Taking Back Sunday has responded back to former guitarist Fred Mascharino. Adam Lazzara and the boys are releasing their album New Again, on June 2, and it's the first with new guitarist Matt Fazzi. In October 2007, the band and Mascherino parted ways so he could devote more time to The Color Fred.

Mascherino said that one of the reasons he left was that "the band was more about cooking food than making music," according to Long Island daily Newsday. We asked Taking Back Sunday about those claims.

[Adam Lazzara] "Oh, yeah..." (laughs) [Matt Rubano] "I'm still obsessed with cooking, and eating and sewing and dancing, and painting..." [Adam] "There's a song off of New Again titled, 'Capital M.E.' That kind of lets you know where that guy is coming from. It's so malicious, and he's trying very hard to stay relevant."

Taking Back Sunday's new single is "Sink Into Me," which is currently at Number 21 on the Radio And Records Alternative Rock Charts.

I've seen both bands live and read interviews with them, and it seems like Fred takes himself and his music a bit too seriously. I feel like maybe TBS had a little too much fun for him.

I don't pay much attention to the band, but that's what it sounds like. Can't say i blame him for leaving, he's probably happier now.

THe color fred is awesome. He is one of the nicest famous people I'v met. He always comes to his merch table after the show to talk with every one

taking back sunday is what made fred who he is. with out taking back sunday he would be nobody. they, on the other hand, have made great cd's before he was in the band. and im sure they still will now that he's gone.
