Taste Of Chaos Starts With Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu And Bullet For My Valentine

After over 200 worldwide dates in the past three years, playing in over 20 countries including the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Australia, Japan, France, Mexico, New Zealand and Italy among others, Rockstar Taste of Chaos has started their 2008 tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Bullet for My Valentine and Blessthefall.

The North American Tour is scheduled to hit arenas in 43 cities in the U.S. and Canada and this year Taste of Chaos will bring audiences the best Japanese Rock bands to the United States, with JRock, which will feature Mucc, DEspairsray and The Underneath.

We caught up with Bullet for My Valentine just before starting the Taste of Chaos Tour, to get their thoughts on what they expect on their first Taste of Chaos run.

"I don't know what to expect really. It's not going to be like Warped because that was really hard. That's a hard a hard tour to be part of because you don't really know when you're playing until half ten that morning and then we were on stage usually about half eleven that morning, so. It was so hot. It was so hot and our crew had to lug all the gear miles every day to the second stages and stuff. So, it's a very, very hard tour but looking back it was a really, really enjoyable one. So this is going to be a lot easier than that one. We're really looking forward to spending some time with Avenged and Atreyu you know and just have a really good time."

So is Bullet for My Valentine excited for Taste of Chaos so they can get out on the road with friends and fellow tour mates Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu?

"That was the clinching point in us wanting to be a part of it you know. We didn't want to be a part of it, I don't think, if it was the punky thing that it usually is. It's definitely more rock and metal based this year so we were like 'Alright, let's do it."

Rockstar Energy Drink will once again be the main tour sponsor and tour dates will extend until April 25th in Seattle, Washington. Tour co-founders Kevin Lyman, Darryl Eaton and John Reese state, "We are very excited about the great bands and concourse activities planned for the 2008 North American Tour, as in years past we want to bring music fans a big show at a very reasonable price. The Rockstar Taste of Chaos has become an important event on music fans calendars in the long, cold winter in the U.S. and Canada."

Yeah, I went to it last night in Minneapolis. It sucked big time. I basically went to see Avenged Sevenfold, who kicked ass, and who every day I'm more and more ashamed of being a fan of (loved Waking the Fallen).

Tons of ****in' emos at the show who think they know what 'metal' is. I've never heard the word used so wrongly in all my life. Bullet for My Valentine put on a pretty rockin' show, but my God I can't stand the music. Bands like Atreyu and Blessthefall are ****in' shit.

Basically a bunch of 14 year old girls who think they're listening to some heavy, heavy shit. Last night just make me more pissed that I missed Behemoth the last TWO times they played in the cities. Fuck.

I went in Minn. last night as well, but i thought it was awesome, and for the record i wasnt one of those 14 yr old girls :p I thought it was a really good show, didnt care for some of the side bands, or the Jrock bands, but overall i thought it was awesome

Atreyu is the only remotely decent band on here, that is if you exclude nearly ever track off their latest effort.

I know exactly what you mean. I was a fan of Avenged Sevenfold back with Waking the Fallen, but as the music became more complex, the vocals went downhill and then all those emos started listening.

What's worse is the fact that one of my friends and my cousin are going to see it (different shows). God, I'm so ashamed... *goes away weeping*

I would ejoy going though, especially for the japanese bands, I think tghat'd be interesting.

A7X, Atreyu and Bullet are definitely not the best of heaviest bands ever, but they are pretty enjoyable, imo.

i was at the show last night ateyu and a7x rocked the place the free rockstar was cool to. i actually met atreyu and they signed a cd for me they were awesome. as each one signed my cd they thanked me 4 being there and told me to havw a good time. if u r lucky enough to meet any other band they sign quick and giv stuff back to and leave. i thought it was a great show, except for bless the fall and the japanese bands!!!!!

Do you really get free rockstar drinks? It says on the can "It is recommended not to drink more than 500ml per day" and that thing has like 750ml in it.

bullet for my valentine is the basically the best band in the world, in my opinion... i mean they have the wickedest guitar riffs, great stage presence.. what else could u ask for, they are all i listen to pretty much. im seeing taste of chaos april 21 in regina saskatchewan.. already ordered my tickets. oh ya, and atreyu's latest cd, wasnt brilliant but im still excited to see them. but im not a huge avenged fan
