Tokio Hotel Checks Into Island Hotel Post Christmas

Tokio Hotel had a big year in 2008, and the "Monsoon" that the band caused left them with an MTV Music Video Award and cemented them as a certified underground force in music. While not certifiable pop stars their brand of pop and rock gave the German band worldwide success.

The band recently returned home and Bill and Tom Kaulitz talked about how they spend their Christmas.

[Bill] "Every year we have two weeks off and then we travel to... Tom and me, we always travel always to little islands but most of the time New Year's we're not at home. We're somewhere else just chilling at the beach. Christmas we are all at our families together and celebrate and meet friends." [Tom] "But the plan is to... I think we fly back to Germany and we go into the studio and write songs, record songs..." [Bill] "...and Christmas just chilling with our loved ones..." [Tom] "...and after Christmas we go right back into the studio."

Tokio Hotel recently released a DVD titled Tokio Hotel TV, which chronicles their life on stage and behind-the-scenes. A deluxe edition of the set contains a second disc entitled Future - The Road To The New Album, and it features footage of the band on promotion tours and preparing for their third studio album. The band hopes to finish the new album by summer of 2009.

6.bullets, the MTV VMA was voted by the audience, that's how they got it. Their fans are very... enthusiastic, which is half the reason everyone else hates the band. And why I'm embarrassed to count myeslf one of them even though I'm not exactly the label's target...
Not that MTV has more music credibility by now than crowds of screaming teen girls.

Anyway, I saw them live many times, I love their music, but I'm not surprised so many of you don't. A certain of guy hates androgynous guys with heavy make-up, unless they're David Bowie. And still
I never thought they're the best band of the world, but they're certainly entertaining, their music is energetic.
They're not everybody's cup of tea, I don't mind.

I hate them so much! I live in Belgium and they were pretty succesful in europe but since they're playing outside of europe the fans disappear...or the little screaming girls are just getting out of the puberty!

i absolutly hate this band and i am thankful that they haven't infected the uk as of yet. they get on my nerves so much. also, my mate wants to add that the lead singer is to stop looking like a girl. as for the haters are losers comment, i do believe i already know this and i don't feel as though i should have to point this out as my username is a bit of a giveaway. anyway, arn't you a bit of a loser for liking this band?

If there's one critic I never understand about the band, it's "the singer looks like a girl". Yes he does (and mind you, he does even without the make-up), and so what? In what does that affect the band's music?
Especially here. It's a music magazine.

chill out dude, I know that you love that band and probably have special dreams with that singer that you love so much but, nobodys flaming.. at least not yet xD and naa is not worth to comment about how much i hate that band, after all there will always be posers who love them... until they grow up and realise that there is good and greater music than this out there. While that happen, i will be listen to pink floyd, Led Zeppelin and all the great ones see ya!

i'm not one of those, if you hate th.. i hate you fans, but i just want to say that SOME people actually do like their music not just the singer(and his brother). and they dont care whether people like them or not, they grew up with practically their whole school not liking them and they got bullied so bad they had to leave school and do home schooling. if you don't like them dont read articles about them, and about the whole 'their fans will find out there is bigger better music out there' you make us sound like we dont listen to other music. just because i am a fan of them doesnt mean that i dont listen to a rnge of music. i listen to r&b,i listen to garage, i listen to reggae, and i listen to rock(which is real rock not just tokio hotel rock). so if you dont like them please dont write comments or talk about the fans as if they are just some idiotic teenagers.

I must say, yes, Tokio Hotel fans are ****ing nuts but that's what makes us so amazing. Sure, die jungs don't have incredible music - it's just average. But there's that special something about them and I admit it's probably Bill Kaulitz. How many bands do you know where the fans will travel to different continents, learn new languages, spend all their money, live an entirely different lifestyles and spend most of their lives voting for polls and awards? You've got to admit it, they're pretty unique. Like it not, Tokio Hotel are here to stay and that's partly because of the batshit crazy fans I call my extended family. =]

Oh and one more thing, why must people say "oh, wait till you learn about the greats"? Surely, when bands such as Led Zeppelin where starting out people were saying "wow, look at these freaks, they'll be around for a few years then the fans will grow up". Why is the music scene so snobby? There will never be one genre of music that's better than the rest, so why can't people accept that? Music is changing a lot these days, and people just have to accept it.
