Wes Borland To Quit Music?

Former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland may be souring on the music business and music in general. Borland is currently engaged in his new band, Black Light Burns, and the interpretive cover album, Cover Your Heart and the Anvil Pants Odyssey.

Borland, who also helmed the post-Limp Bizkit Big Dumb Face, said that he could possibly quit music tomorrow.

"Every day I wake up I feel like maybe I...I wonder if today is the last day I'll be doing music. I just never know. Sometimes I think that it's all... Sometimes I think the whole music thing is -- and it's probably my age because I'm getting...I'm 33 -- for the last few years I wonder if this is where I even where I need to be anymore in the world. I've thought about doing a complete 180 and just going and doing mission work somewhere. I don't know how much longer I may want to do this. It may be forever or it may be another week."

Borland added that as he gets older he sees himself becoming obsolete in the heavy rock world.

"I just try to stay true to myself and listen to my inner voice. Pretty soon I'm going to have to move on to doing film or soundtracks or something like that or give it up because I'm being replaced by new 22 year olds every day who are rocking harder and are fresher and newer and who have better ideas and who are on their way to becoming a jaded old bitter man like me."

It'll be a bummer when he does finally hang it up, but I can understand. Not only is everything constantly changing as far as music goes, but musicians are ridiculous flakes that can't even get themselves to practice half the time. It's frustrating, and as a guitarist I've asked myself many times if I want to continue as far as having a 'band' goes. It gets to a point where the run-around is really tiring and obnoxious - especially in the industry and business of music.

kudos to him, at least he knows when to give up. im not saying he was bad, but he wasn't great either. I can understand how he could influence people, but limp bizkit wasn't the best way of showcasing his talent, he'll leave a leagecy

Actually sounds like Fred Envy if you ask me. He has probably noticed that Fred is about to be taken as a serious director and that he has moved on to bigger and better things. He probably just woke up and knows too that he cannot perform as he does when he ages. I alwaays knew Fred was beyond an intellectual. I dont think it will be long before you see him accepting at the Oscars.

seriously I personally think limp bizkit was pretty shit. the one thing they had that was awesome was wes. some of the riffs on any of their albums are ****ing awesome and outlandish its just a damn shame he had to be in a band with fred durst lol
