Dave Mustaine has broken his media silence with another awesomely controversial interview, this time with right-wing radio host Alex Jones.
During the 40-minute interview, which you can hear in the player below (via Blabbermouth), Mustaine aired his views on how the USA is becoming a police state, Obama, and how people look up to him as a "father figure".
His rant on Obama appears to be based on a misinterpreted quote where a speech was edited to suggest the President hated small business owners. The audio clip was later found to be made from two separate sound bites and taken out of context, but Mustaine remains outraged:
"I'm disgusted with this guy. He's my president, I respect the office of the presidency, but I think as a person and the things that he says, I've never heard anything this offensive ever come out of the mouth of a president.
"Why hasn't somebody moved to impeach this man? With all of the proof about his birth certificate being fake. And you see the signs in Kenya that say 'the birthplace of Barack Obama.' Hello?! C'mon, guys. How stupid are we right now?"
The conspiracy guns go blazing when he reinterprets the dress Michelle Obama wore during his inauguration, where "she had a black dress on with two red triangles, so she looked like a black widow turned upside down... you just don't wear something like that to some event like that without there being some kind of future message being told." Presumably this means she plans to kill and eat the president after they mate, though evidence of this is yet to be uncovered.
Mustaine moves on to more plausible topics when he discusses the USA becoming like a police state:
"Sometimes our fans that are younger, they look to me as a big brother, or even a father figure, because I really care a lot about them. But I have never been more terrified in my life about what's happening to our country.
"It's amazing how our liberties are being taken away from us. It's like the frog in a pot of boiling water. If it was boiling water when he jumped in, he'd jump back out. But if they slowly turned the temperature up, the frog will stay in there until he boils to death. And that's what's happening to us right here. We don't know what's going on.
"I believe that if we continue on the same path that we're on right now that America will never be the same."
Meanwhile, Megadeth are about to embark on a tour of Asia and will seek to sign a new record contract now their deal with Roadrunner has expired.

I think he's referring to the NDAA, The Patriot Act, and all the laws that are along the lines of SOPA/PIPA/ACTA. It's easy to forget about NDAA and the Patriot Act, because it really doesn't affect most of us, but yes technically those laws took away some of our rights.

George Bush didn't actually evade military duty. Dan Rather was fired, because he did not do any fact checking, and told an outright lie on air. I do agree with most of the rest of what you say though. I would like to point out that FDR actually extended the Great Depression with his policies. Obama is trying to do some of the same things as FDR, and it's just not going to work well for us. Though I do think we're getting better, we should be a little better off than we are now. I just wish he would've followed the Simpson-Bowles plan.

It's one thing to state an opinion (for example, "I don't like the president's policies because...."). It entirely something else to make stuff up that has no basis in reality, especially when you a (somewhat) prominent figure. When Mustaine speaks, he is almost always misinformed, filled with malice and acting in a socially irresponsible manner.

But on a serious note, I'm also terrified about what's happening to our country. Not at all because of Obama. More so because of how citizens treat each other with violence and disrespect. If you're born in Kenya and one of your parents is a citizen, so are you. Counts the same as being born here. As long as you're born a US citizen, you can be president.
The same people who were calling for that restriction to be changed so Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for president are the ones who have a problem with Barack Obama -maybe- not being a US citizen by birth.

Second: I see a lot of posts about healthcare and other things. There are some misunderstanding here. Healthcare is NOT free. US citizens will be REQUIRED to pay for it through taxes each year. Which is absolutely ridiculous. It takes away our RIGHT to make a choice on whether I want healthcare or not, not everyone wants it yet we are required to get it.

1. The PATRIOT ACT was put in place during the Bush Administration.
2. Obama has expanded gun owner rights. The only gun legislation he has signed into law was to allow citizen to "pack heat" in our national parks.
3. Cameras on street corners are funded and made possible by state and local government...not federal.
4. Income taxes have been in place since prohibition to compensate the revenue that was lost with the alcohol taxes. And, letting the Bush tax cuts expire is not a tax increase.
5. Obama didn't invent the property tax. And, Property taxes are collected at the municipal and county level. That's why property taxes vary by state. Unless Obama is your county magistrate or mayor.

Then why does Switzerland have one of the highest guns per capita in the world, but one of the lowest gun crime rates? To me that indicates that whatever the deciding variable is in level of gun crime, it isn't gun control laws. I agree on all of your other points.

Does Obama seek more power and control? Absolutely; but what politicians or governments don't? Governments are only concerned with increasing its power and control over the public, and, at the very least, maintaining the status quo. They simply aren't interested in any kind of real change. First of all, government, as we know it, is a byproduct of environmental scarcity. Like mafia tribes, the governments of the world seek to preserve their current positions of power, while aggressively working to strengthen their economic advantage. As far as social management, all a government can basically do is make laws, establish budgets, and declare wars; which is quite oppressive. Obama, and the “NWO” power establishment, that Alex and Dave talk about, has no face, there is no empirical “they”. It's an ever rotating group of manifested mentalities which result as a direct consequence from the system we perpetuate. While Obama isn't "evil", or any of the other nonsensical rhetoric you'll hear from Alex and other religious zealots, he also isn't doing a good job helping the public or creating any real "change" as he promised.
If you examine history, you will find the historical fact that the public good has always been secondary to other interests, mainly, financial and business interests. Of course, this is common knowledge now, right? Why did the US government, completely against all known public interest, allow the private banking system, a system which actually creates nothing, to be bailed out to the tune of 12.8 trillion dollars while the public was left out to dry with overflowing private debt, job losses and a stagnating economy? If we're going to persist with this silly little game we've concocted called the growth economy, where the movement of money defines everything, it might be a good idea for the Obama administration to do the math regarding what might actually help this economic system operate at some passable level. If that money spent on the bank bailout was spent on relieving private household debt instead, while letting Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and all of the other technically meaningless, non-producing financial institutions experience the failure and bankruptcy they deserved, simultaneously nationalizing the entire US banking system as a whole, the US economy might have had a chance. Why? Because banks don't actually contribute anything. People with jobs do.
If you want growth in this type of system, you need jobs. If you want jobs you need demand, and demand requires people having free money to spend. By helping the public debt burden, you would plant the true seeds of economic growth. As obvious as that may seem, many (the Obama administration) forget one thing: The bailout had nothing to do with helping the US economy, nor does it or will it work to help any hurting sovereign economy in the world. Why? Because we live in a plutocracy, not a democracy, and the only true power is actually behind the curtain, not in front. I would argue that Obama hasn't been allowed to do his job in many ways. Look at the amount of legislation that Obama has signed or vetoed...it's not much, especially since 2010. Apart from the stimulus, which helped but was nowhere near big enough for the country's needs at the time and Obamacare which was ironically a 100% conservative (heritage foundation/Romneycare) idea, he hasn't been able to pass any economic legislation through congress.
Look at the amount of judicial and other appointments that have been blocked by congress compared to those made by other presidents.

I live in Britain, and free healthcare is one of the ways the government HELPS you. You can still have private healthcare, still refuse to go to the doctor. It's a public service that you get if you want it. Simple as that.

I'm not just blaming Bush. I'm blaming Reagan, Bush, Clinton (for signing NAFTA), Bush W, congress (especially the house of representatives), a partisan supreme court and the uninformed voters who take opinion as news (left and right). All three branches of government should share the blame. These people who blame Obama for everything are pathetic...and, obviously haven't been paying much attention to this country for the last 30 years.
The Stimulus helped. Could it have been better? Absolutely. Three months after the stimulus America stopped losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every month. And, six to eight months after the stimulus, jobs were being added to the private sector. Hoover and FDR (for the first 2 years in office) tried waiting for the economy to fix itself during the great depression. It didn't work. Capitalist Economies are based on bottom level consumer spending and faith in the economy itself. Traditionally, In the US, government has been the employer of last resort. To ensure a starting point for the private sector to thrive. Our biggest issue now is the laying off of public sector workers and supply side economics destroying the benefits of traditional Capitalism.
Keynesian economics has been embraced by every president since FDR. Reagan, Bush I and II all used Keynesian stimulus to help maintain or grow the economy. Only since 2008 has the issue of stimulus been questioned by the conservative media and the right wing of government.
The two major issues with the last stimulus was...first, it was tailored for a recession, not a depression. Second, this country doesn't produce anything anymore, we are no longer manufacturers. the US has an economy based on retail consumption. So while a portion of the stimulus helped ground level retail, just as much went overseas to countries that still manufacture goods. Goods we sale and in most cases, goods with extremely low tariffs.
If anyone wants to make a wager, if Mitt Romney wins the presidency, I would put my money on a stimulus package... most likely in his first 6 months of office. Along with massive tax cuts for the highest income bracket. The stimulus will not be covered heavily in the media, if at all. That way they can claim the tax cuts and deregulation are the reasons for the immediate increase in economic growth.

Obama didn't give us free healthcare. The Affordable Care Act began as a market based solution to health care in the Heritage Foundation, a conservative/Republican think tank. The Left wanted a Single payer or universal healthcare system. Medicare for everyone, something similar to every other developed country in the world.
Obamacare is just Romneycare. The basis is a universal mandate. Basically, a giant handj@b to the insurance companies who co-authored the bill. Millions of new paying customers. Some of the regulatory actions in the bill will help somewhat. But, you are fooling yourself if you think this is anything other than another corporate subsidy handed down to the tax payer.

Well as far as what liberties are being taken away from usit is more than people realize. They are in the proccess of taken away the right to bear arms, kids are no longer aloud to pray in school in some places, they are just slowly destroying everything that America was built off of and I dont think that things should be taken lightly.

Your guns will never be taken away, that is a political death sentence for anyone. Aside from the overwhelmingly majority support from right wing voters to protect the second amendment, you'd apparently be quite surprised how many liberals don't actually want to take away your guns, especially since many of those liberals are gun owners themselves.
Praying is schools is allowed, it just isn't supposed to be supported by the school because it violates a separation of church and state. Go ahead and pray in school, they won't stop you, especially since once again, an overwhelming majority of the population believes in a God and do not by any means condemn prayer.

1: I'd be curious to see your basis for the school prayer charge. The only places there should be official times for school prayer are in private parochial schools. This is not a theocracy.
2: In case you haven't noticed, there are a lot of idiots with guns who should not have guns. The Treasury Department showed the National Debt now stands at $15.566 trillion. It was $10.626 trillion on President Bush's last day in office! And now the budget shows the Debt hitting $16.3 trillion in 2012, $17.5 trillion in 2013 and $25.9 trillion by 2022? Whatever happened to that "Win the Future" program? Taking responsibility for our deficits, by cutting wasteful, excessive spending wherever we find it! Yeah, right!! What a goddamn joke!!

You actually do not even have left-wing politicians in your country. You just have an extreme right-wing party and a moderate right-wing party, existing solely to provide you with an ilusion of choice, while the actual power is concentrated elsewhere. So no need to worry about socialism, at least not for a 100 more years or so, you've got more important matters to tend to.
