Features: Made in 2007, in Korea. 21 jumbo sized frets, full size, thin neck (easy to grip), Rosewood fretboard, maple neck. Solid maple top. Perfect action for finger-style and chord playing. Full maple except fretboard, and Flamed maple on sides and back for a nice look. Natural Gloss finish. Jumbo body size. Abalone and Mother of Pearl inlays on fretboard, and Abalone rosette. Split bridge, hooked up to electronics, strings go through the saddle and are outside the guitar, requiring no pegs. TK40 electronics, with built in Notch filter, tuner, volume knob, bypass button, bass/mid/treble regulators. Chrome Takamine tuners. // 10
Sound: Very bright, clear tone. Specifically designed top to increase bass and make treble clearer. Perfect guitar for finger-style playing, smooth feel on fretboard. Works well with medium and light gauge strings. I use a normal electric amp but use an acoustic effect on it to replicate and acoustic amp. Large variety of sounds from on-board electronics alone, and very resonant. An all around generally made guitar that can transition between many different styles from finger-style to slide guitar. // 10
Action, Fit & Finish: The action is just low enough to use medium and heavy gauge strings and still feel easy on the fingers, as well as being able to adjust to a high action for slide guitar. Pickups are build into the split bridge making for a clear sound and efficient when it gets to space, but makes it tough to file the bridge down since the pickup contacts touch the cut out blocks on the under-side of the bridge (sophisticated design meant not to be tampered with). Very high quality straight out of the factory with the exception of a minute chip or two in the fret inlays (bound to happen sometimes when dealing with abalone). // 9
Reliability & Durability: The guitar is build tough and will take a decent beating (accidental of course), made with solid maple. Requires a 9volt battery which is bound to last many performances. Strap buttons are chromed and build solidly, on on the under-side of the neck with cloth on the bottom to avoid ware on the wood, and one on the butt of the guitar (also used as the cable input) which is safely screwed in with 3 screws. Very reliable in terms of electronics, I would not worry about having to use a backup. The finish is bound to last many years without extensive or professional treatment. // 10
Impression: I play a lot of solo acoustic and chords and this guitar is perfectly made my style. I have owned one since August, so about 5 months now. I owned an introductory level acoustic guitar before this, and wanted an upgrade that wasn't a 3000$ Taylor, since I mainly spend my time on electric. All I needed was a decent acoustic/electric guitar. Make sure to examine the action on this guitar, since many models were made with an action of about 1/2" or just below 2cm. If it were stolen/lost I would definitely buy it again, I had the chance to trade it in for an Ovaition (700$), but chose not too. The best feature on the guitar by far, is it's look, with the quality inlays and bright flamed maple with it's natural gloss finish. The only downside I could think of is it's a bit heavier and a standard dreadnought because of the jumbo body design and the electronics (since the difference is so small you adjust to it quickly). // 10
