This bass performs wonderfully. I play Hardcore Progressive Death Metal with it, and it pumps out an awesomely full powerful sound.

This is a really high-gain bass as you might expect. The upshot of this is that unwanted noise is pretty much non-existent. Very nice and quiet.

Even though this is a metal bass, with the 3-band EQ you have the possibility to play very different kinds of music, though it clearly LOOKS like a metal bass.

This is my first fretless bass, and it is still a good bang for the buck bass considering the narrow range of possibilities in the 5 string fretless world.

I play hard rock and heavy metal and for that purpose, this bass sounds phenomenal. For the price, the pickups are amazing; despite being ESP's stock pickups they are very versatile and, though it can easily make the walls shake.

It's not a good, it's a perfect match. Maybe, for somebody, the sound and the looks of the bass might seem too aggressive. Well, I knew what I was buying it for. Sounds nice with the gear I have and I've got no problems with its thin neck (my palms are not so big and the fingers are not so long). This guitar is fast, comfortable, aggressive.

If you've been waiting for the right time to give the 5-string a try - here's your chance. Now you can add the expanded range and massive low-end of that low B to your arsenal at an incredibly affordable price. Leave it to ESP to deliver high quality at such an affordable price.

As unconventional as this new ESP bass looks, it's built with high quality woods and EMG HZ pickups with 3-band active EQ, just like some of the best basses in the world.

It would be nice to have more controls, and the colour black is a but boring, but it does match all music styles, especially Rock and Heavy Metal, so I a not too bothered.

This beautiful maple figured top would be worth the price alone, but ESP's builders have gone crazy by using neck-thru construction and still kept the price like a bolt on. If you ever dreamed of owning a neck-thru, quality bass but could never think of affording it, think again!

The list of upgraded, custom shop-style features on B404 basses is almost unbelievable. First and foremost, they're neck-thru basses with incredible tone, sustain and harmonics.
