Gibson Standard SG Bass Review

manufacturer: gibson date: 06/07/2011 category: bass guitars
Gibson Standard SG Bass
The sound on this bass is excellent. It is very deep, but can be surprisingly versatile. Overall this bass is amazing, there isn't anything I can think of that needs to be improved.

Sound: The sound on this bass Is excellent. It is very deep, but can be surprisingly versatile. It has the raw power to shake the windows in my Room running through a 150 watt solid-state amp. I like to play classic rock, but also some singer-songwriter stuff like Jack Johnson. // 10

Action, Fit & Finish: Perfect action straight out of the box. The Nitrocellulose finish is perfect. The guitar arrived at my house flawless. // 10

Reliability & Durability: This bass is the perfect gig instrument. I've only had it for about a month, but the finish is perfect and will definitely will last. The strap buttons were replaced immediately with scholler strap locks. I never go without strap locks, they are a 30 dollar investment that can save your instrument from crashing to the floor during a gig. // 9

Impression: Overall this bass is amazing, there isn't anything I can think of that needs to be improved. I've been playing guitar for about a year bass only a couple of months. It's very versatile for all kinds of music. I own a Gibson LP Standard and a Dean at the moment. The only slight problem I've had is that there are very few finishes to choose from. It only comes in faded black, faded red, Standard red, and standard peachy color. // 9
