Price paid: $ 366

Features: This Washburn make bass is the XB800. This is a very good bass guitar that has a double octave neck length, laminated top, mahogany neck, but I'm thinking of putting a maple on it. Transparent finish, active electronics. There are four controls, treble, volume, middle and bass. The pickups are status. Non-locking tuners. Came with a hard case. // 10

Sound: Well, it has a very good sound for the price. At the moment I am using a Fender bass amp, the rumble 15 with it and it sound really good. It can be quite quiet when you want it to be, but it an be very loud. See, you could do some nice jazz on it and it would sound really nice, yet you could also do some like in your face punk with it and it would still sound cool. You can also do slap on it really easily and chords sound nice on it. The only problem is that when you go higher up on the neck the notes can distort, but it sound good like that unless your doing some geddy lee stuff you go higher on the neck doing solos and stuff. // 9

Action, Fit & Finish: The action of the guitar is good. When you play though a slight rumble can be heard from the pickups if up slap it there. Other than that the bass is very good. // 10

Reliability & Durability: This bass will stand live play, and the hardware seems to last. My dad had this in the '70s and I think the only scrath on it is when it fell out of the moving car. It still works very well though. The strap buttons are solid. // 10

Impression: I would use my Line 6 over this some days, but out of all the basses I have (about 20) this would be my second chose in a gig and those 20 basses include a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass, Sting Bass, Manta Ray Model, Fender Squier P-Bass, and Fender P-Bass and a whole lot more. This bass is the bomb! // 10

hi

i have recnetly acquired one of these xb800's and sadly one of the switches was knocked off in transit so i need to replace it but im unsure what the swicthes exactly do. on here it says they are volume/bass/middle/treble so does that mean that you cant switch between pick ups as they are both always on?

the switch that i broke is the bottom right one as you look at the picture posted above. can you tell me what switch that is please? i know i should know but have only just acquired the guitar and havnt purchased any 9v batteries for the active pick ups yet.

cheers
