Richness of Content: I have recently acquired the Drum Transcription book for the 'Mothership" box set released by Led Zeppelin. It has every song from the box set___ all 24 of them, note for note, down to every six-tuplet and ghost note. It lets drummers capture the true essence of John Bonham's drumming. From songs as simple as "Ramble On", to songs as complex as "Dazed and Confused," not one note is missing in the transcriptions.
Although there are a few Led Zeppelin classics that aren't featured in the book, this book features every song that you need to know to be in a Led Zeppelin tribute band. // 9
Style: This book offers very accurate drum transcriptions in standard score, rather than drum tablature. I find that the drum score is easier to read than drum tablature, the reason being the separation between measures and alternate repeat sections being more easily understood. // 7
Overall Impression: When I first picked up the book, I was able to read the music and follow along with it right away. But one thing I found somewhat irking is that the music doesn't have much vertical spacing, which will definately make more than one drummer confused on wether to play hi-hat, crash, or ride. // 6
