Ralph Denyer: The Guitar Handbook
I would never have attempted modifying guitars without the aid of this book and sure there are better luthier books and books based on theory out their but this book is a door to all things guitar and a must have for any musician.

Richness of Content: This is a bible for any guitarist and at a price less than 17 pounds is well worth the money, in fact it is a bargain with tips on customizing, building and setting up guitars correctly as well as general maintenance with a deep understanding on how guitars work. It also hold a good deal amount of theory and scales etc. For a beginner this book can be a little hard to follow but if you stick with it this book will reward you for years to come, I have owned this book for 6 or 7 years now and I still look up some of the information contained within this book. // 9

Style: The writing style is to the point and fact based so with some things the information is easy to follow and enjoyable where in other areas I thought that the author could have explained things better so that beginners don't end up scratching their heads in confusion only able to understand some of the content years later like I did. // 7

Overall Impression: I would never have attempted modifying guitars without the aid of this book and sure there are better luthier books and books based on theory out their but this book is a door to all things guitar and a must have for any musician. The only thing I don't like about this book is that sometimes the music theory doesn't explain itself clearly and the reader may want to delve deeper into some of the topics covered within the pages but overall this book is a font of knowledge that I can't live without. I recommend this book to beginners and pros alike, simply put "a must have". // 8
