While Bizkit fans may eat this up, to quote Spinal Tap, "There's a fine line between clever and stupid," and Big Dumb Face falls squarely on the stupid side.

Sound: In fact, "BDF" is the name Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) gave to his incredible solo project. Just before he left limp bizkit, Wes Borland decided to try something different: he wanted just to have fun, so he made this CD all by himself: drums, bass guitar, vocals. He also recorded the CD in his own house! I already knew he was one of the best guitarists of the world, but I never thought he also could be such a good drummer! The style of this album is very strange: some songs are really heavy, Wes screams and plays with high distortions everywhere, but for some other songs, he changes his own voice with a special mic so that it looks very strange and just plays some very easy, cool, funny songs which make this cd so particularly good! // 9

Lyrics and Singing: Well even if Wes is a great musician, he insn't a very poetic. For every song, he just wrote everything he could, even if it didn't make any sense, as long as it fit well with the atmosphere of the song: for some heavy songs, like "Blood Red Head On Fire" or "Burgalveist," Wes wrote some gore, dark lyrics, and fore some other "strange" songs, like "Mighty Penis Laser" or "Kali Is The Sweethog," Wes wrote about aliens invading the earth, evil gods trying to kill us, and let's just stop otherwise it will take months to tell all the stupid things he wrote down! Anyway, his lyrics are just so funny sometimes you just can't stand it anymore. After all why not? You can't blame a guy for tryin'. // 7

Impression: One thing is sure: when you're listening to Big Dumb Face, you're havin' really good times! Even if this CD isn't much popular, if people say it's bad, it's kid stuff, just stop listening to them. "BDF" isn't a very popular CD, but it is good, there are some very good songs ("Rebel," "Robot") and (very important) you don't have to be a Limp Bizkit fan to admire Wes' incredible work! // 8
