Sound: Edguy's 2006 release "Rocket Ride" is the bands 8th studio album. The band was founded when the guys were teenagers in school in an effort to impress the ladies. And this album definately impresses. There are 12 new tracks on this album as well as a live performance of "Land Of The miracle." This album has a great sound on it. The guitars are mainly pretty clean with only a small amount of distortion. Nothing too over the top or incredibly heavy. But they sound great. The guitarsist obviously knows his guitar well pulling off some admirable but not overly techincal solos. The overall sound works well together. Sacrifice the albums opener is spectaculr, it shows the bands full range and incorprates piano and violin. This album is well pcaed, it slows to the middle and the pace picks up towards the end. One of the albums oddments is the song "Save Me" it sounds like it wouldn't be out of place on a romatic comedy or the OC. However it doesn't make the album lose any credit in my eyes, because it is a beautiful song and a great. It sounds like Edguy had a great time making this album, its fun and a has some adlibs and talking over some parts of the songs. The first half of the album is more serious, but after catch of the century it starts to become more fun. This album is mood lifting and makes you feel like doing a stupid dance. You know you want to listen to it, so why don't you? // 10

Lyrics: The lyrics on this album are great, some tackle serious things like the meaning of life and growing up whilst other times it talks about ugly women and german pornstars. The lyrics fit well with the album, a perfect complement to the artists skills. The singer is great, he can tackle the high notes without sounding strained, and his voice is great. The backup singers are great. I think they were extras bought it just for the album. But regardless they add some great harmonies. // 9

Overall Impression: This is a fantastic album, I can hardly flaw it, although I don't like the live song at the end. But I think 98% of live recordings are terrible. It seems to be playing all the time, but I'm still not sick of it. I think I'm in love. I will leave you with a quote from the bands upcoming bioagraphy: "Edguy kick major ass and if you give them a chance they will tear you a second asshole! Now go and buy their albums! All of them, 20 copies of each. Hurry up before they sell out!" // 10
