Sound: This is Feeder's first record and features the songs Pictures Of Pain and Chicken On A Bone. Be warned Pushing The Senses fans. These are not pop ballads. They are more like the songs Stereo World and Decend from the Polythene album. Pictures Of Pain is the lighter of the two songs and is a more vocally based song with a more up-beat tempo, unlike Chicken On A Bone. This is a heavy, grunge song with the best solo Feeder have done and a powerful chorus. Having said that, the sound can feel shallow sometimes and Taka's bass is non-existant. This is probably expected seeing as these are some of the first songs the band recorded. // 7

Lyrics: The lyrics are a very mixed bag. One one hand you have the powerful lyrics about working for a days wage and not being able reach someone and punishing yourself for it in Chicken On A Bone and Pictures Of Pain respectibly, and they seem to fit the songs quite well. On the other hand, Grants voice, although good (if not great) in Pictures Of Pain, is truly awful in Chicken On A Bone. The backing vocals, however, are a real treat in Pictures Of Pain. // 6

Overall Impression: This is not some of Feeder's best work but it is by no means their worst. It is more a taste of what's to come in Polythene, an album which outclasses it totally. The songs in the album are evenly matched if not great (only two songs anyway). The name Two Colours is not because of the number of tracks, if you were wondering, but because of the number of colours allowed on the cover. that's two, by the way. If this was stolen, I would hunt down whoever took it because it costs 60. Not that I own it. I just downloaded it from the internet. // 7
