Sound: Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks is the first studio album by the Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks, released in 1981.

The biggest hit of the album was "Tragedy". "Walking With My Angel" is a cover of a song from Herman's Hermits' 1965 self-titled album. "Don't Never Leave Me" was re-recorded and released as "Don't You Ever Leave Me" on Hanoi Rocks' fourth album Two Steps from the Move. Andy McCo wrote every song, but song called "Cheyenne" was written by Andy McCoy and Michael Monroe. Andy wanted to be the songwriter and he didn't like Michaels songs. Andy McCoy has said that Guns N' Roses copied "Lost In The City" and made "Paradise City" (those songs are very similar).

The album appears several times in the 1995 novel High Fidelity. Recorded in Park Studio, Stockholm, Sweden. Music genre is glam rock and hard rock and similar bands are New York Dolls, Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue. Producers were bands vocalist Michael Monroe and guitarist Andy McCoy. // 9

Lyrics and Singing: English critics has said that Hanoi Rocks made better lyrics than English bands. Lyrics are good for this kind of rock 'n' roll band. Lyrics are about sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. // 10

Impression: This is very good debut album from one of the most underrated band. The end is history. Axl Rose has said in 1989: "If Hanoi Rocks would have reached the success they should have had, no-one would have ever heard of Guns N' Roses.". Albums best songs are "Tragedy", "Village Girl" and "11th Street Kidzz".

I love this album and this band 'cause they revolutionized rock 'n' roll. If you don't belief, ask from Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Brett Michaels, Robbin Crosby, Billy Idol, Chris Shiflett, Mike McCready or Johan Sebastian Bach.

If someone will stole my Bangkok Shocks Saigon Shakes Hanoi Rocks CD I would go to cd-store and buy new. // 10

This is a really great album! But for the record (no pun), Lost in the City & Paradise City couldn't be much more different. The similarities stop at the word 'City'.

Favourite songs are 11th Street Kidzz, Tragedy & Cheyenne.
