Sound: Haste The Day is a Christian metalcore band from Carmel, Indiana. The album "When Everything Falls" is probably one of the greatest Christian metal albums released in recent years. Everything sounds tight on the album, from the guitars, drums, and bass. But really separates this album apart from the pack is the screaming. Jimmy Ryan uses a quite different approach to his vocals then most artists use today. They sound great, and can't really be described until heard. The clean vocals are also outstanding and help add to each song. Although there aren't too many innovations in the sound (besides the screaming, When Everything Falls is a tight, fast, awesome metal album. // 10

Lyrics and Singing: My overall impression of the lyrics would be that they are awesome and fit great with the music. They are not innovative, with themes of love, standing up for what you believe in, and lost love, but they fit well with the agression and style of the instruments. Jimmy Ryan pulls the lyrics off flawlessly, showing emotion in all of the songs. Overall, they are not innovative per say, but fit extremely well with the music, and there's nothing wrong with that. // 9

Impression: With other Christian metal bands hitting the metal scene lately, there seems to be many artists to choose from. Haste the Day is a great choice. They are not innovative, but really bring a true metal sound with outstanding vocals and intrumental work. My favorite songs on the album are When Everything Falls and Fallen, but every song holds it's own just fine. If it were lost or stolen, I would definately replace it. Go buy this album! // 10

I just looked into these guys, the singer almost sounds like Alexi Laiho or the guy from Satyricon.

What the hell? every song on this CD sounds identical. im alomost positive that every chorus is the same progression, with the vocals sounding exactly like every other song. "I wil stand, i will stand, blah blah blah" this same melody is the same for the vocals in EVERY chorus on the cd. this is a flat out embarrassment. this cd is not forgiving, it is punishing- punishing you for listening to "christian metal." haste the day once made acceptable music, now they have just shat out one of the worst albums i have personally ever heard.

why is "christian metal", or christian anything for that matter, even a genre. lyrical content shouldn't dictate a genre, what the band sounds like should dictate it. people should stop inventing new genres to place themselves in so the differ from the mold and just tell it like it is..it's metal.

This Cd was ok but the screaming was better on Burning Bridges. That was a great CD, plus it had one of the best hardcore/metal/metalcore or whatever you want to call it songs ever, American Love. Man that is a great song.

This is a good CD, but not as good as Burning Bridges. If you like your metalcore more melotic than brutal, then, I guess, this is for you.

I do like this CD and I'm honored to live in their hometown. I do think that the last song on this CD, "Long Way Down", is quite a curveball to the rest of the album.

I wish they had more solos, like War of Ages. The vocals are sweet with HTD, but the melodic clean vocie does sound so much the same. eh, nothing can be perfect

can any fans of Christian music explain actual what makes a band a Christian rock band or Christian metal band unless they have song titles or lyrics with direct references to god or Jesus like a song called "Jesus will save you" or something like that, cuss it is very confusing to me.

why are there soo many goddamn hardcore chrisitans bands today whats going on, not that i have a problem with that because As i lay dying is one of my favorites bands, and soo is Haste the Day but a lot of those bands sound very generic and awful kinda like Norma Jean in my opinion

Long Way Down seems to be a cover of Goo-Goo Dolls, not 3 Doors Down. Doesn't make it any better, though. I dunno what to do: laugh or cry. I like that song nevertheless.

This album is just a blatant, repetitive and a boring album. The songs sound like each other, but I still like it. Gives me a good vibe (plus the repetitive feeling).

Christian HardCore/MetalCore has become as dull as steaming kettles, but luckily there are some exceptions, such as August Burns Red and Minus Sign.

Yep lots of the songs have strong resemblance to one another, but hell i still enjoy every one of them. They don't need to really sound unique to make a good album IMO. The album is rockin and thats what's important.
