jimmy d'soul :
this gig was tremendous. i saw it on BBC3 a few months back and was blown away.
there are, on the televised show, moments where singers like Emogene Heep and others appeared, plus a live performance with Eric Clapton. i think they were a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the show.

as a fan of beck i will go out and buy, or download which ever is less hastle. :P

This show is priceless; A unique guitar player, still at his best at the age of 64. The sounds he wrings from his instrument are extraordinary. Also extraordinary is his technique; Picking every note (no hammer-ons or pull-offs), but without a pick. His use of the whammy-bar (it`s used constantly, sometimes in place of string-bending, sometimes to sound like slide guitar) shows Beck must have been one of Steve Vai`s main influences.

Blow by Blow gets my vote as the best guitar album ever. He is so melodic and fluid. You can sing along with his solos. Nobody bends a string like Beck. nobody.

lol, I love Imogen Heap, and Beck's 5 seconds of guitar solo on Goodnight And Go

I saw his performance on the Clapton Crossroads program and I thought he was pretty good. However, the female bass player he had that night blew him away!

That was his daughter.

It was not his daughter
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tal_Wilkenfeld

I t was Tal Wilkenfeld

"Wilkenfeld's performance with Jeff Beck at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival was aired on PBS in November, 2007. Unfortunately no credits were given for Beck's band, and viewers have confused her with Becky Godchaux or even Beck's daughter. However, the DVD of the concert gives full band personnel listings, crediting her on bass."

I stand corrected then. I for sure thought she was, as did everyone else who watched it with me.

I was at the last Ronnie Scott gig. He's amazing. I shall wait for the DVD version which is coming in January. It will have the same track list as the CD but none of the guest appearances shown in the BBC version.

Hello Warm_Tube_Guy.
I have a sincere request for you. PLEASE stop posting educated guesses as fact!
I came here to find out who the young female bass player was myself. I ALSO thought it must be his daughter. I am not exactly sure why we all thought that. Probably because she seemed too young and because they were smiling at each other a lot. Let's look back though. There is NO REASON to believe that other than our hunches. Having said that I also thought that, here is the HUGE differance. I would NEVER NEVER NEVER have post a comment on the internet saying "that was his daugther" just because I thought it was. You could have completely avoided any wrong-doing by saying this..."It seemed like it could be his daughter". You and other people like you make the internet a less reliable source for information.
Please think before you post!!!!!
