Sound: Jet makes its world debut on their first and awesome album "Get Born." Jet has a very distict sound compared to most musicians these days. They show many different sides of themselves on this album with some really catchy, up-beat songs and some slower, more cooled off songs. I think there sound is awesome. I do get flashbacks to the '70s when listening to this album. Oh yeah, it may sound dumb but I like how this album sounds like it was all recorded on one cut. The songs are kind of "linked" together and I think it sounds cool. I was reading previous reviews about this album and I can't believe that people think this is punk music! I disagree completely. Jet sounds much more like AC/DC and old school/classic rock bands like that than they do Green Day. Whoever said that doesn't have a clue. The overall sound of the album is generally upbeat and pretty cool. I love the catchy guitar riffs and actual good solos they use. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics aren't necessarily the strong point on this album, but that doesn't mean that they're bad. I think that the sound of the actual music is better than the lyrics but they still pretty good. The singer Nic Cester is pretty good and all the lyrics fit the songs really well. The do get a little repetative, but they do really hit that vintage rock sound. Pretty good. // 8
Impression: Overall this album is a gem. It is so much better than a great deal of the other so-called rock that is coming out these days. I like pretty much all of there songs and don't skip any when listening to this album. Except when I get to the end. I don't really like the song Timothy. I read on the Jet sight that it is about the bassist's little brother or something, but it is still not cool. I always find myself reaching for another CD when song #13 comes on. I think that they should've included the song Sgt. Major on the cd instead of Timothy. Overall, it is great. Yes I would definately buy it again if it were stolen. I love this band and can't wait until they release some new material. If you like classic rock, buy this! // 10

Sound: For some reason Jet didnt cut it with me, I think that they are talented but they cannot be compared in anyway to AC/DC. I have found that most people I have asked about them seem to think they are one hit wonders, though this is questionable as they received 6 Aria awards last night. I do think though however that they are going for that 70s sound but just not hitting it. Too candy, too try hard. A waste of their musical talent, I think they should try to find their own sound. // 6
Lyrics and Singing: Great singer, waste. The lyrics mostly get repetitive, not the case will all songs but their hit singles Rollover DJ and Are You Going To Be My Girl? seem to be good examples of this repetitiveness. Right now people are already purple with rage as they read this but I have to say once again, going for the 70s sound but not hitting it. // 6
Impression: People say that they are the next ACDC who they draw inspiration from yet they play punk. A completely different genre. Speaking from a guitarist point of view its like contrasting Greenday and Akka Dakka. Jet slips right into the Greenday column but are a long way off the top of the list. // 4

Sound: Jet is a fresh new sound to come out in a world that is being dominated by hip-hop and what not. Jet have that kind of old '80s rock sound, but its not overlly screamy like The Darkness. The guitars are pretty good, being loud or ballad like to suit the song. The bass riffs are witty and the drumming is also very good, even though it kinda sounds like it was on a shitty drum set. Very talented band that may stay around for a while. // 9
Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics are a lot of the time about girls, but not all obout the same thing. Sometimes they want the girl at the bar "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," how shes a slut "Cold Hard Bitch," or if shes betrayed you "Look What You've Done." The lead singer, I think his names chester, is pretty good and fits with the old rock sound. // 8
Impression: Again Jet reminds me of The Darkness, but I like them a lot more. Best songs are "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," "Rollover DJ," "Look What You've Done," "Radio Song," "Cold Hard Bitch" and "Lazy Gun." "Timothy" was an alright song, but it just didn't quite seem right for Jet, maybe it would be better sang by a diferent band. Overall good album, I probably would buy this again. // 9

Sound: Straight out of the 70's, here comes the Australian band Jet. Jet is a mixof new and old rock. They have blended new age sound with old school rock very successfully on their debut album "Get Born". The band has very catchy rhythms and beats to their songs like "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Rollover DJ" with a few execptions. Songs like "Timothy" and "The Radio Song" are just flat out stupid. I also love how they use solos of all kinds in their songs. Bass, Drums, as well as the guitar all have awesome solos in nearly every song. // 8
Lyrics and Singing: Nick Cester adds some awesome lyrics to the bands rump - bustin sound. The lyrics fit the music well. The music is rockin and so are the lyrics. The lyric presentation reminded me of that of The Who and The Rolling Stones. The vocalist, Nick Cester, is outstanding and brings a refreshing breath of air after the pollution of the rap and pop music. These lyrics rock! // 10
Impression: Overall, this album is fantastic. It is great old school rock with an new school kicker and its great. The most impressive songs on this album are "Are You Gonna Be My Girl","Cold Hard B--","Get What You Need", "Last Chance", "Lazy Gun", "Look What You've Done" and "Rollover D.J." If this album was stolen from me I would definitely buy it again. Please, if you like rock and roll, buy this album! // 10

Sound: When I first heard this album I loved it, and now, months later, I still do! Amazing soundtracks with fabulous lyrics and great voices. I love everything about Jet. Their songs vary from soft rock to punk and hard rock. // 6
Lyrics and Singing: Many songs from the album 'Get Lost' are very well-known, and rightfully too. No doubt you've heard 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl'. Jet has made this album with great spirit, and in every song you notice it. The lyrics are well-written with devotion, feelings and love. // 8
Impression: Other related artists: American Hi-Fi, Boxcar Racer, Feeder and All-American Rejects. It's a pity Jet isn't more known, for their music is terrific. The most impressive song in the album 'Get Lost' is most probably 'Move On'. The song just puts me in a kind of trance, everything about it is good, lyrics, playing, notes. Some might say it's a bit boring, but I love it. Perfect evening, homework or background music. If this album for some reason went missing from my computer or I loct the CD, I would definatly buy it again. One of my favourite all-time bands and albums. // 8

Sound: Jet's first album is a fantastic display of both blues rock and cleverly written ballads. They have a mixture of both and have managed to keep the special effects down. Their songs are very catchy and easy to remember and some of them have clever guitar work in it. They have a vague representation of AC/DC, building their songs around the major chords but Jet have much deeper, complex songs than AC/DC show. They have some good solos but that isn't really their forte. They make up the absence of solos with raw talent. // 9
Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics adapt to the songs really well but aren't as diverse as the could have been. The lead singer has an amazing voice and has the ability to sing with ballads and the heavier stuff as well. They are a little old-school but that's what make them so popular. // 8
Impression: This is a fantastic album and it's great to see a band come out from Australia who can compete in the northen continents. The song that really stands out is 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' which was their break-through song. 'Timothy' is a much softer song that shows just how good at song-writing the group is. This a brilliant album and hopefully they'll be able to follow it up. // 9

Sound: This band Jet brings a great new yet simple sound to the modern music scene. Their music has a feel of some classic rock. It is the kind of music that you would be driving windows down on a highway to. The music on this album is very good stuff. It has some nice rock riffs, that are a little harder than some soft acoustic parts. Both very good contrasts. // 9
Lyrics and Singing: These lyrics talk a lot about leaving home and wanting those girls. The lyrics fit in greatly wiht the music. The songs do not seem to be harshly put together. The singer for Jet is a great singer for this type of band and this also fits greatly. // 9
Impression: This album compares a lot to other artists and albums of today like The White Stripes and The strokes. The most impressive song in my eyes on this album is the track Look what you've done. It has a great piano intro with a nice vocal part. Well done. I love the flow of the album and how everything fits. Nothign seems to be stressed or strained. What I don't like about it is some of the simplicity of the songs. If this album was lost I would probably go out and get it again. // 9

Sound: A decent album with some distinctive rock sounds. Some very good riffs on this album, especially on their hit single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl." This album is very easy to listen to, and has some funky stuff to listen to. But some songs sound too much like others on the album, and apart from having their own cool sound and style, they seem to stick to this, and some riffs seem to sound samey. // 6
Lyrics and Singing: Most of the lyrics seem to have no meaning to life, and aren't the kind of lyrics that you can relate to. But why do they have to be? These songs seem just to be about having a great time and pulling chicks, and I think that's great! I apologize if some of you think that this is not the case. I think the singer of the band has a great voice with a cool rock style, but I've heard it before. The singer's voice has no distinctivity, but he has some skill. // 8
Impression: Overall, this album is very distinctive from other artist's and has a very good rock sound. But at times, while listening to the album, I feel I have heard it a couple of tracks ago. A fun album to listen to if you're in the mood for some good rock, but I think you'll be putting Led Zeppelin on before long and putting this to the side. The band itself has plenty of distinctivity to other bands, but the tracks have no distinctivity to eachother! Slightly below my high expectations, but good fun for a little while. // 6

Sound: I agree with most people about how they sound like AC/DC. On most of their up beat songs they have catchy riffs like AC/DC. Another thing I like about this band is their the only rock band in a long time to actually have good guitar solos. The only thing different about AC/DC is they have a lot of slower songs. Some of the slow songs are ok but Radio Song and Timothy are just terrible. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: Their lirics and singer skills are not their strong points. Their not bad but their just not good. The lyrics go with the songs but they don't have much of a meaning. The lyrics could be alittle bit better but their guitar riffs and drummer makes up for it. // 8
Impression: I think this album is very good. Their guitar players are good. Their bass is really good. And their drummer is awsome check out the drumming on cold hard bitch. My favorite songs are Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Rollover Dj and Cold Hard Bitch. All their songs are good except for radio song and timithy. Overall I think this band is really good and I recommend buying this album. // 10

Sound: The sound of this cd is different than other of the time us pop-punk and numetal. It is an older English rock sound. That sound quality is even a little dirty to go for that older sound. With multiple guitar and a lead singer with a voice to be a rock star in the 70's this band has a great sound. // 8
Lyrics and Singing: Most of the lyrics from Jet are just fun songs with a catchy toon, but if you really listen to them they usually are telling a story. The ryme skeems are different that some of the other bands with a pashonate yell here and there. Some of the song have a sentamentle feel tear jerking lyrics like the Song "move on" will make you think about things that you have had to leave behind that you didn't want to. This song will leave you with a kind of sad but renewed feeling that I get when I listen to PInk Floyd. // 8
Impression: The cd can't rightfully be compared to any cd that has come out in the last 10 years in my opion because jet have such a unique sound. I guess that my favorite songs on the cd are "radio song, Move on, rollover DJ, and get me outta here". What I love about this album so much is the complete uniqueness of it. You will never be listening to the radio and here just come on and mistake them for some other band. With them working a taberine into one of their song that have one of the most unique guiatr sounds around. If you do not have this cd already I sugest you run to the nerrest store and buy it or download it. // 10

Sound: This is definitely straight out of the 60s and 70s, very vintage sound going on here. Jet is the greatest band out of Oz since AC/DC. You don't even have to guess their influences, which are AC/DC of course, The Rolling Stones and The Easybeats (no one will have guessed that one.) Actually, a lot of their sound is original. Listen to "Rollover DJ" for more on this theory. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: There is nothing I can say about Nic Cester and it not being an understatement, he is an amazing singer. Although here is one thing that probably no one has really thought about: it amazes me that he can play those riffs while singing. Again, listen to "Rollover DJ" and during the verse that is not the lead guitar playing that riff, it is Nic. // 10
Impression: This should definitely be at the top of the charts but last time I checked it was near the bottom of the Top 40, and Usher was at the top. This is a band that is going to knock out all of the emo-"punk" bands and change the way we look at music. Some good songs on this CD are: all of them. They are impressive in their own way. It is really worth buying, and Jet rocks! // 10

Sound: I believe that this is the best album to come out in a long while. The Austrailian band Jet has really beaten the heck out of other new bands. All thirteen songs have something unique about them. "Last Chance", the shortest song on the album has a great ACDC feel about it. "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?", the first hit song off the album, reminded me very much of The Who in a few ways. "Rollover DJ", the album's third hit, is very original in many ways. But it also sounds like the Bachman Turner Overdrive during the bridge.
Then there's "Look What You've Done", which is planned to be a fourth hit, is where the album shines. It takes Nic Cester's extreme fascination with Abbey Road to great use with his Lennon-style singing. The piano and great bass lines make it sound very much like the Beatles. I believe this is the album's best song. "Get What You Need" is great! The use matches the excellence of Ray Manzarek of The Doors. "Move On" is probably the second-best song on the album. It really reminds me of "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd because of the magnificent acoustic strum. They also made wonderful use of the slide guitar. "Radio Song" makes great use of the piano and also has great guitar riffs. "Get Me Out Of Here" is a real party-rock song. A great title choice, it almost seems like it is screaming to get away from all the soft songs and into some real rock fury. That leads us to the next song, "Cold Hard Bitch", the album's second hit. This is an awesome song.
Chris Cester really shows his drum talent in this one, he almost sounds exactly like Keith Moon from The Who. The whole song in general sounds like a Who song. The intro could work a little shorter, but who cares anyway? Then there's "Come Around Again". This song is a great soft-rocker in contrast to the previous song. "Come Around Again" is a very relaxing song. "Take It Or Leave It" is a two-minute rollercoaster of rock and roll fury. Nic Cester and Cameron Muncey put their incredible guitar talent to great use. "Lazy Gun", the album's longest song, is great despite the wild tempo changes. This song also has a great use of a slide guitar, though it sounds completely different then "Move On". The final song, "Timothy", is a slow song that makes great use of guitars and background effects. All in all, this album gets a 5 out of 5. Jet's style has influenced me in many ways. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: Nic Cester does a great job of writing lyrics and he also has a wonderful voice. But I think that the best song, lyric wise, is "Timothy". This song was written by Cameron Muncey about his brother dying. Cameron, being five at the time of the death, didn't really know what was going on. He wrote it from that point of view. A real tear-jerker. // 10
Impression: This album is awesome! If it were stolen, I'd buy another. // 10

Sound: The sound of Jet's debut album (Get Born) is absolutely amazing they have brought back of that 70's kind of rock'n'roll and mixed it with modern rock'n'roll styles, to create a great cd. With several solos throughout, and a variety of instruments such as harmonicas, banjos, and pianos, makes for an excellent CD. Did I mention that 3 of the 4 of them sing, and if you have a preconception that their vocals suck, you realy need to hear the CD to actually believe how good they sing. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics were fairly good. I noticed in songs like 'Lazy Gun' they used the word "fun" alot, not to say it is a bad song but it gets a little repetitive. They generally say the name of the song in the song quite a bit, but once again it really doesn't take much away from the songs. They sing about a wide variety of ideas. Did I mention that 3 of the 4 of them sing, and if you have a preconception that their vocals suck, you realy need to hear the CD to actually believe how good they sing. // 8
Impression: Well overall this cd compares to alot of 70's rock bands and a few modern rock bands. My favorite songs are 'Lazy Gun', 'Move On', 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl', and 'Cold Hard Bitch'. I was impressed by the banjo in 'Move On'(By the way I think it is a banjo but I'm not sure so if I'm wrong don't chastise me for it)it sounds really good and has a little solo thing in the midst of the song. I like the sound, lyrics, vocals, and especially the instruments. I hate 'Get What You Need', I don't know why, I think it is because when they are singing in the chorus "Come On And Get What You Need" it reminds me partially of Weezer and The Vines, I can't stand that song. If I were to lose(it wouldn't be stolen because I guard it with my life) I would definately buy it again. If you have the money and want a good CD buy this CD it is worth every freakin' penny, honest, you won't get and be disappointed. If I had a choice to go back and buy this CD or the new Blink 182 CD, I'd buy this and burn the Blink CD from someone else.
(Extra Info): 13 Tracks;48 Minutes.
(My Thoughts): You'll will like some of th songs or maybe even most of the songs, but I can guarantee you, you most likely won't like every single song. It is a good CD but it is no Pink Floyd: Dark Side Of The Moon. // 10

Sound: I was instantly drawn to their first single "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" for many reasons, the first being that it had a vibe similiar to that of the Who, and second, because it had been a long time since i had listened to to rock that wasnt older than I was this was a good sign of the resurrection of rock and roll. If you like The Who, you will definitely find this to be an enjoyable album to listen to especially when driving. When listening to the album in the car I found that it wasnt annoying to others when I cranked the volume way up, maybe because it didn't annoy people with repetitive bass, or maybe it was just good ol rock! Be that as it may however the album does have some faults. Some of the more acoustic songs are not very well written and tend to drone on such as Radio Song and Timothy. // 8
Lyrics and Singing: Lyrics are very upbeat and Jet pulls them of with style and grace. The lyrics really bode well with the music especially in the song Rollover D.J.. Overall a very good job on the lyrics department. // 8
Impression: Get Born is not a perfect album but for anyone who likes rock at all or just wants some upbeat music for a change I really recommend buying this album. Overall a really good first album and hopefully a good and long musical career awaits these Australian rockers. // 8

: Get born was my favorite album for about a week, but somewhere around the 6th time listening to it the lyrics got redundant and the guitars began bore me. I'm not sure Nic Cester has a voice to pull. It's good upbeat music to listen to if your into that genre. And I must say, "Are you gonna be my girl?" has a mighty catchy beat.
