Sound: Jimi Hendrix's sound is like no other. I can't even think of one other artist that sounds just like him. When he first came out with his first album, nobody had heard anything like him before, and since then there have been some lame attemps. This album was recorded live, so there are some problems with the sound such as feedback and such, but that's to be expected. Jimi Hendrix is extremly versitle. He ranges from everything to blues to hard rock. // 10

Lyrics and Singing: Jimi Hendrix is both a great lyricist. However, when he plays live, he is usually worried more about his guitar playing than singing. The singing at Berkley was better than they were at woodstock. I don't even know why we are using the words "Lyric" and "Hendrix" in the same sentense, since his playing is so good. Even if he never sang the experiance would still be one of my most favorite bands. // 10

Impression: Like I said before, I've yet heard anyone that sounds like Hendrix so I can't compare to anyone else. After the intro, Jimi starts playing "Pass It On" which happens to be one of the best songs on the album. "Hey Joe", "Lover Man", "Purple Haze", and the extended eleven minute "Voodo Chile (Slight Return)" are also good songs. The verzion of Voodo Chile (Slight Return) on this album is the greatest to date in my opinon. However, the song "Machine Gun" got boring after the first 7 minutes. Other than that, this is a great album and I wouldn't even think twice about buying it again if it got stolen. // 10

i dont see the point in gettin hendrix cd's anymore i mean they all feature basically the same songs, i for the most part you only need to own 2 of the CD's to get every song made by him

Try his actual albums instead of the greatest hits.
He came out with 3 albums and a fourth came out after his death. These albums together add up to 63 tracks. Theres also a blues CD and Cd's that have rare unfinished tracks. He also made tons of recordings that have yet to see the light of day again. Also, berkley is a LIVE album, if you dont know the significance of that, then you dont know anything about hendrix.

It is clear that he is a poor writer in terms of spelling and anunciation, but he conveys his facts in a proper way; I could understand what he was trying to say. One thing I noticed was that some words and grammar problems distracted me at times. Aside from the errors it was a good review.

Really?!?! I own 27 Hendrix Albums and almost none of the tracks sound the same. Even the songs with the same name sounded completely different.

This concert Jimi Hendrix live at berkeley 2nd show, is without a doubt one of thee best rock and blues concerts ever performed by any artist. Whats nice is no two jimi hendrix concerts given to us, sound the same. This cds sound quality is fantastic, it sounds as though your in the front row, if u imagine. Billy Cox bass sound is deeply ingrained in the sound quality, and Mitch Mitchell drums are intricate and complex at the same time. First jimi throws us a curve ball and boy what a strike! he starts out with a new song, and just tears it to pieces(pass it on) with high enthusiasum to great effect, then second comes a beautiful new song again,(new rising sun) that sounds nothing like what Hendrix did in the past, but was certainly capable of. The rest of the concert follows the same high enthusiam mood through all the hits and extended concert gems. Of course each one is incredibley well played here. On many occasions on this concert, genius can clearly be heard, by way of guitar effects at the ends of songs, that by that time im sure, and to this day have not been heard again. and the sounds he made here feedback or whatever are special to this concert and to the music world. The cd is one of the finest ive ever owned, and believe me even the cover case and booklet are extremely fine as well. Id like to thank Janie Hendrix and her crew for being insightful enough to release such an amazing release, please keep the performances comming out like this to the public.

I do think they must release the first show someday, dear lord, it would be just as incredible if not more so than the second show, the first show having "johnny b goode" and an unbelievable version(complete version) of "hear my train a comming". Dear lord i dont think i could take it, its too amazing lol
