Sound: I usually do not listen to ska/rock blends but Less Than Jake really hooked me on this one. The vocals are punkish while the instrumentation resembles rock with some brass thrown in. The album seems to focus on making life as exciting as possible and how the band has definitely known the boring side of life and did not like it. My favorite part of this group, and this album in particular, is how the trumpet can nealry replace the rhythm guitar with not one skipped beat. the music is very happy sounding and almost like a "things are not always great but that makes life better" vibe. The only short-fall in the album is that the sound does not cover the same spectrum that one would find in normal rock. // 9

Lyrics: The lyrics are really awesome, they definitely tell a story and let you into the band's mindset. They ironically compliment the music because the lyrics usually speak to ideas involving a problem that needs fixing while the music makes you think that "hey, problems happen but that should not bother me". The singer should get some huge props for his abilities too. His range is suprisingly wide despite his punk-ish voice. the energy pours out of his mouth and he can really hold some cool notes. // 10

Overall Impression: This is a must have album for any punk or rock fans. There is not one aspect to seriously frown upon if you have an open mind to music. I would recommend listening to "Help Save The You Of America From Exploding", "Nervous In The Alley", "History Of A Boring Town", and "Great American Sharpshooter." // 9
