Sound: The Monkees have had a number of hits in the '60s/'70s. They've done a few covers of The Beatles and even sound a bit like them. This album (released 2003) has all the hits lined up from 'Daydream Believer' to 'Shades Of Grey' it's got the lot of The Monkees classic singles. There's always a nice mix of the '70s guitar, the drumming, bass and vocals with the soft sound of his voice, and it's always good with the backing vocals of the other musicians. They have a fantastic tracks. You always want to listen to their greatest songs, not the rest! It's nice how they come in with their diffrent parts in the intros. // 9

Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics are typical '70s ones about things that are pleasent and stuff. Most of their music sounds the same. A lot of it's about a passion for something. This shows not only in the songs but the titles explain it all anyway. The Monkees lyrics tell you a lot about them and altogether the songs tell a lot about their personality. The lyrics are calming and help you focus on something and espicially 'I'm A Believer' helps you with that! They can attract people from all ages ansd give you ideas. It's all very wonderful to listen to anytime. He fits perfectly in with their music and is very soothing. The lyrics just talk about life really. // 9

Impression: They were a big band at the beginning of the '70s and still are remembered. 'Daydream Believer' is probabily the best song and nicest lyrics. There are a few others that are just behind though like: 'Last Train To Clarksville', 'I'm a Believer' and 'Pleasent Valley Sunday' are very impressive. Some of the tracks are used a lot today in everything from 'Shrek' to partys! I love that they're an old amazing band that you wish were around now, at least you still have the music. I hate how many songs they've produced, There's too many to chose from. If it were lost I'd want it and plead down on my knees. // 9
