Sound: This CD, released in 2002, Is the re-release of their original remix CD, which was the same CD but with 4 less tracks, so I thought I'd do this one, since it has more. Mushroomhead's dual vocalist sound and heavy (if repetitive) guiatr riffs are not so prominent on this album, with it taking more of an industrial feel. Because of this, most of the remixes differ so much from the original that they sound like new songs. Heavy sampling on every track except "The Wrist (hand of solo mix)" which is just the opening keyboards from the original being much extended and then the song ends. Overall it has a dark and gothic sort of sound to it. Very good to listen to in the dark. // 10

Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics are always a point where MRH excels, but on most of this CD the lyrics and vocals take a backseat to the samples. However, on "Bwomp (Nord Mix)" they are very strong (as in the original) and the remix is essential just a reprogrammed version of the song with part two of bwomp off of "Superbuick" added at the end. And the intro of "2nd Thoughts (F--k Like Pigs Mix)" is pretty funny, if a bit immature; same goes for the samples throughout "Episode 29 (Hardcore Mix)". // 8

Impression: I think this CD is a gem as far as industrial goes, but fans of mushroomhead may think this is too much of a departure of their other sounds. This doesn't sound like the same band at all as they do on their later release, "Savior Sorrow", not even close. But I recommend this to anyone; and if it was stolen I'd replace it since it's usually not sold at full CD price. But it is a bit hard to find. Not in most mainstream CD stores. // 9
