Sound: This is the first EP of the Spanish and Austrian new rising band called Origen. This power trio mix different styles like punk rock, metal, hardcore or stoner rock. They play drop C tunning so you can think the power of the band. The songs are so complete, so many different riffs from Miguel Nicols and Carlos Via and different rhythm parts from Luis Garca. The first song called "Preludio" is an instrumental song with a so stoner sound, mixing fuzz, clean and distortion sound and medium time from the drums. As its name say, this song prepares you for the rest of the EP. The second song is "Quiero Perder." This is the first single of the band, you can watch the videoclip below, strong intro and hard verse rhythm with a more melodic chorus. The bridge starts with a clean part, continuing with a riff with octaves and finishing with the same clean part as before. Then we can listen to "Lo Ms Salvaje". This the hardest song of the EP. This song has a beautiful surprise at the end that will make you move your head. The fourth song is "Diario Ficcin." Maybe this is the most "relaxed" song of this debuting album. Melodic chorus, so punk rock song, so palm muted guitars, and fast rhythm sections. The last song is "Decadente." This is the best song of them, so strong and melodic pre- and chorus, so punk rhythm finishing with a powerful medium time. So complete about sound album, very mixed styles so good linked. // 9

Lyrics: The band sing in Spanish language. The singer is Miguel Nicols, and the main writer with Carlos Via. The lyrics are full of message, about life, they are agree with the powerful sound of the band. You won't find explicit love theme as so many bands nowadays write. For Spanish speakers the chorus of "Decadente" will stay in your mind for days, very very catchy. One of the most important aspect about lyrics and singing is the work of Carlos Via at the chorus. They give so strength to the chorus parts of the songs. Miguel has a very good tone colour, a different voice, so good to this style of music. Lyrics and singing in this EP is one of the best things of this new rising band. // 8

Overall Impression: This a very good debut EP, it's so impressive the sound and the strength of all songs to be a debut EP and no a completely album. I have to say that the members are so experimented in rock bands and this is an aspect so important. If you loved rock, hardcore or punk music you'll love this band. As all starting bands they need support but if they continue this way maybe they will become an important and awesome band in the Spanish panorama. You can listen to them in their Bandcamp site, not doubt to do it, they are great.
