Sound: Outbreak offer an old school, Bad Brains-esque twist on modern hardcore. While the guitar work isn't anything to write home about as most hardcore is. It still should not be overseen that the musicianship on this album is incredibly tight and precise. There are a couple well placed solos thrown in here and there and the always present thrashing guitar and dominating drums. This was their first full length release under Bridge Nine Records and still stands as most fan's favorite album. // 8

Lyrics: The lyrics are really the shining point on this CD and for Outbreak as a whole. These are some of the most pissed-off, negative, pessimistic, angry, lyrics I have ever heard. What makes them hit even harder is the fact that you know Ryan means every word screamed out of his lungs. Every song is like a missle aimed at the worlds head, and he couldn't care less about anyone who gets in the way. These lyrics are definitely my favorite part of "You Make Us Sick" although they might turn some off by the shrillness of his voice and how incredibly pissed they are. // 10

Overall Impression: "You Make Us Sick" is an instant modern hardcore classic. Comparable to the sound of Ceremony's "Violence Violence" or Trash Talk's "Walking Disease" with an aforementioned twist of old school hardcore thrown into the mix. The best songs are definitely "No One Cares" and "Braindead/Scum" Two of the most ferocious songs and still catchy enough to be stuck in my head for a long time. There isn't anything not to love about this band if you love hardcore. Aggressive, in your face, loud, angry, and extremely tight. I would recommend picking this album up in a heartbeat. // 10
