Sound: Talented artists that are not much known. Quo Vadis is a metal band from Montreal in Canada. Very aggressive sound on this album as on their previous one. Very fast guitar riffs with unique distortion sound. Arie Itman (lead guitar and vocals) is a very able man and he's got his stuff to show. As long as the bass goes....well like on every album you don't hear it very much until you pay attention to it. But once you get to hear it...it very good. Last but not least the drums....wow. An explosion in every song, the drumming skills of Yanic Bercier are just amazing. Great control on his double bass and he gets so fast on overall that you'll be wondering what's to come next. He truly is a great drummer. Not every guitar solo will blow your mind....but some do. The best one being the solo of "On the shores of Ithaka" fast and melodical as well as technical. On the overall side, this album was very well recorded you can hear almost anything you want on it. // 10

Lyrics: Quo Vadis being a metal band the signing is not very great. The lyrics although are different from traditional metal. Very deep in poetic especially in songs like Mute Requiem and Cadences of absonance. The best lyrics on the album are probably those of Yanic Bercier on the first track (Absolution). Very clear and well sang and very poetic too. Just too bad he sings about 30 seconds on the whole album. // 8

Overall Impression: Great album....very powerful songs on it particularly Hunter/Killer, On the shores of Ithaka and both parts of Point of no return (mute requiem and cadences of absonance). It's now a classic to me...if it were stolen I'd surely find a way to get another one... (I had to order this one and it took like 3 months to get in). Might not be avilable in your place but everybody should at least find a way to listen to one of their songs. Recommendation: take a look at their web site www.quovadis.qc.ca and enjoy. // 10
