On this CD you can really hear the human hearts behind the wall of sound, and while the emotional impact is on a smaller scale, somehow it is even more affecting.

Sound: Iceland's favourite band, just as they did on all their previous albums, has once again revived their sound for their 2008 release. The nuclear psychedelic blast of "( )" and the idealistic tingling mood of "Takk..." have been partially replaced by emotional segments performed string and brass ensembles and heavy drum/bass presence. This time, the band recorded at different locations including New York and London's renowned Abbey Road Studios where they worked with the London Oratory School Schola and a 67-piece orchestra. This sound refreshment however doesn't take the features so typical of Sigur Ros, simple but great beats, sensible and descriptive basslines and of course Jnsi's falsetto-style singing. The overall musical mood of "Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust" is playful, lively and dynamic, this time with more strings and more bass and drum-driven moments. // 10

Lyrics: Being not a speaker of Icelandic (let alone Hopelandic, the "musical language" invented by singer Jón Thor Birgisson), this section is a bit harder to write about, all I can say is that on "Með Suð Í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust" lyrics are floating above the instrument parts and just as much the bass does, it "connects the dots". Jónsi's high pitched voice and really instinctive sound producing are once again let this man give a really remarkable performance. // 10

Overall Impression: With songs like "Gobbledigook," "Góðan Daginn," "Festival" and "Ára Bátur" Sigur Ros once again charm the listeners and make us sure, that they are still creative and thus remain one of the best deals in contemporary popular music. "With a buzz in our ear we play endlessly," reads the album cover translated into English. We really hope they are going to play so because it's well worth listening to them. // 10
