Sound: Sponge Cola has definitely evolved from their past, all-rock-and-roll style in music as shown by their sophomore effort entitled 'Transit'. Compared to their debut album 'Palabas', the tracks in 'Transit' go much smoother, much 'cleaner' in sound. The voice quality may have not changed a lot, as Yael Yuzon's (the band's vocalist) shouty and throaty singing still showed up in some track in the album like in the 2nd Single off the album 'Tuliro' and in 'Movie" (if you have the album or at least the track, listen to the second voice in the ending of the song, somebody's at the top of his lungs! ) But still! The album's overall sound and quality could not be overlooked. Tracks like 'Sa Bingit ng Isang Paalam', "Nocturne' and 'Pasubali' will really get you nodding to the tune and humming along with the music. // 10

Lyrics and Singing: Creative and Meaningful; that's the key of Sponge Cola in getting the attention of the listeners. Poetic expressions and amazing imagery in the lyrics in all the tracks in the album would really call anyone's attention once a Sponge Cola song is played. And of course, Yael's trademark voice mixing low and high tunes really is great to listen to. Amazing indeed as a follow-up for 'Palabas'. // 10

Impression: Amazing. Amazing. And amazing. You couldn't ask for more in an album. Definitely worth your P350 if you are asking the price. This is one album that's headed for Multi-Platinum Sales. Nice work Sponge Cola! A must-buy for OPM music fanatics. Surely after this album, many will be watching out for a third one. // 10

this cannot be a must-buy. spongecola are a sorry excuse for a pinoy rock band. that song 'Tuliro' has the WEAKEST so-called guitar solo ever. The vocalist is just horrible! They can't write a good song and they can't justify their horrendous songs with talent. i mean, lack of talent. This album is trash. Their music is a mockery of the real talent that filipinos have. The same goes with most of the local bands that play on mtv. Filth.

well chickenbone, you cannot argue with success... these guys may not be good, but they made it big... i agree with you about talent and stuff but i disagree more not because i am a fan of spongecola... but because you lack proper judgement... you must consider a lot of things when criticizing stuff... especially when you go up to people who made it big... like spongecola...

they are a success because they are widely promoted. their one of those bands that give OPM a bad name. (cueshe is also one of them. ugh)

..and you lack proper thought construction. first you say you agree with the talent comment. then you say you disagree more. make up your mind! second, success does NOT justify their lack of talent. would you disagree that william hung is not a talented man because he made it big?

ugh... common dude... would they get such huge promotions and wide fan bases if they don't have anything to present to the people? well people like them... my girlfriend hates spongecola... frankly I like MCR and Typecast more than them... but I say they're good because they made it B-I-G, BIG! nobody could make such wave in they music industry like they did if they didn't have the talent... maybe you're just saying those things because you are SOOOOO GOOOOOD and the four members of Spongecola altogether would prove no match to the talent you have... and William Hung has talent... i didn't say that people who made it big are not talented... and with the agree-disagree thing... I agree with what you said that they ARE not THE best out there... but I disagree because of your unfair judgement...

I'm a SC fan and I liked sponge cola beacuse of their lyrics first!!!!
After diving into the lyrics you will understand why the vocals are like that..
Get contained with the lyrics first... If you have a better version of their songs post it on you tube and let us all see if you are better..
To those SC haters don't judge them right away they took their lyrics from their own experience and from people around them and not just for the reason of making a song. How could you quetion ones experience and find you're own tune and melody for them.. It's how they feel and I closely relate to the emotions in the song and I find the vox, guitar and all perfect for it...
I have to admit there are still different ways to sing there song and any other song just like Jillian where the sound of the song in the link above is far different from the album version and another is Gemini where there is a piano version but it doesn't mean that one version is already superior or inferior compared to the other...

They are not perfect but don't hate them just for the reason that you don't like the vox.. I dislike songs which don't realate to me are lyrics which are senseless. but I never discourage those who like them..
the only time I discourage is when the lyrics are destructive and demonic...

psh, first of all they're a rich bunch of guys who made a band that's why they're widely promoted....the vocals are not that good but their lyrics do make sense.... i would categorize them as one of the POPogi bands like hale and callalily

seriously,they made a wave in the music industry? everything they did was generic. they, along with other bands like cueshe, don't deserve all that spotlight. they made it big just because those record companies knew they'd be a hit with the masses. wanna know why? because of the looks. because their songs are shallow.
