Sound: Steve Saluto is an Italian guitar player, songwriter and producer mostly known for his past works with Richie Kotzen. But, he also has played with lot of big names in the music business ranging from jazz projects (with Jeff Berlin and Danny Gottlieb) to rock music (teaming up with Atma Anur, Marco Mendoza, Terry Ilous, Doug Wimbish just to name a few)... and aside his studio production work he has a very prolific solo career. He has released 11 solo albums... not counting the 2008 project called "La Famiglia Superstar." 2013 is the year for the latest release, the EP called "12." The band members for this new project are Oni Logan (Lynch Mob) on vocals, Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Slash, Lynch Mob) on drums and Thomas Nero on bass. The record is another surprise from mr. Saluto and it gives him the chance to showcase his fluid guitar playing and his songwriting. The EP is a little rock music journey; starting from the killer guitar riff of "Believer," going through the acoustic dark atmosphere of "Gone," and then through the instrumental "Bangkok" where the Saluto's guitar playing rules, and ending with the possible radio hit "Make You Mine." Saluto has been able to add interesting elements to every song working with sounds (for example cello or electronics loops) and atmospheres. Overall, it's a great effort from an artist always looking for something new in his music career. // 9

Lyrics: Oni Logan seems to be back to the "Wicked Sensations" era but with the freshness of this new project. He perfectly fits with the songs and it's a shame his career is so underrated considering the powerful of his voice. In "Gone" he takes the listener by the hand delivering with his voice colours, emotions and sensations that you hardly can find in other songs from him. I would say the technique of his singing didn't suffer over the years. The lyrics on the record are intimate and honest and there's nothing wrong to be found. // 8

Overall Impression: Steve Saluto has given to the music market another solid product from his solo career with "12." This is a solid rock album that takes distance from the Lynch Mob production (even if in the band the are 2 on 4 members from the latest Lynch Mob line up) and this is the Saluto ability, workin' with people bringin' them through always new musical journeys (as he did with Kotzen and Mendoza in the past). If you are a guitar lover you can't miss "Bangkok" but generally every song of the album is particular and its really difficult to pick up one. I like it. // 9
