Sound: The first song that I heard by The Confession was "Through These Eyes" and I was really hooked onto their sound as it reminded me of Avenged Sevenfold and that is one of my favorite bands. They have a really nice sound to them, they can be heavy with some really nice riffs and technical solos and also melodic with nice acoustic pieces here and there. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: The lyrics really fit into the songs and especially went with the guitar work. The singer has a pretty good range going from a more depressing kind of heavy almost non-singing of "The rise and fall" to the soft melodic voice of "Requiem". Adages and phrases were in abundance in this album and the creativity of the lyrics were impressive although a little vulgar at time but that only contributed to the effect of the lyrics and to relay the message that is being sent. // 9
Impression: This album is like a mix of some sounds of A7X but they have their own flare to it. After listening to "Through These Eyes" for about the 500th time I still can't get over how well put together it is, it's probably the best song on there and "Requiem" is a nice change of pace throughout the album. There were some parts in "Time is gone" that bothered me a little but besides that the whole album was really good. If I lost this then hell yea I'd buy it again. // 10

Sound: I first heard about this band through Avenged Sevenfold, and I thought, "If A7X is saying good things about them, I could at least listen to one song." So, I listened to their song 'Dance with the Devil' and I was instantly hooked. At the time, this album had yet to come out, but I sure was ready for it. M. Shadows from Avenged Sevenfold produced this album along with Fred Archambault, and they did a very good job. One thing I love about this album is that the songs actually have real solos. Not the stuff that is improvised and all distored where you can't tell if the guitarist are making mistakes or not. Their guitarist are quite good. They're playing at this year's Warped Tour, and I haven't been this excitied about a new band in a long time. // 10
Lyrics and Singing: I personally liked the lyrics, and I find them stuck in my head all the time. Whenever I listen to them I'm always singing along. The lyrics fit well, using imagery like "fate twists her knife" and "when the sky cries out, angels will dance in the rain. This album could be described as metalcore, but unlike most metalcore albums, the singer does not scream. He actually sings, except for one of the songs 'Jealousy', but that was the song that came from their EP, where the singer screamed. In the song 'Requiem', which is dedicated to a friend, the singer uses a softer voice, which I find somewhat annoying. Especially since it stays that way for the whole song. // 9
Impression: This album is really good. My favorite song would have to be 'Time is Gone', and I love the verses during 'The End is Near'. Lets say if your a fan of metal/punk, you'll probably like it. Also, if you like Avenged Sevenfold's album 'City of Evil', then you will probably love this album. If anything were to happen to this CD, I would definately get another one, even if I had to order it. // 10

Sound: Requiem is The Confession's first full-length album; it's 10 songs long, two of which are off the EP. The Confession stray a little from the sound they had on the ep, but they still keep the over all vibe of the band, it adds a more dynamic sound to this cd. It was produced by M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, M. shadows seems to have pushed the confession away from the A7X sound and more toward there own. He has transformed them from a avenged sevenfold wannabe's to some thing of their own. I really enjoy the styles of both the guitar players in this band, they shy away from the normal tech style solo's of other heavy bands, and lean more towards heartfelt solo's with just a touch of southern flare. // 9
Lyrics and Singing: Compared with other CDs of similar styles this album is extremely well written. The lyrics fit very well with the style of music played; the singer has a great range and an uncanny ability to sing with the guitar. The little screaming that was present on the ep is all but gone; the one song that has a little screaming is jealousy, in which the screams sound more like a large man gargling maple syrup. // 7
Impression: This album really possesses the two things that made the EP a mediocre listen, those being a unique sound and quality audio. Some of the songs that really stand out are Time is gone, in which the boys try there hand at a string quartet intro and make it sound more like bambe than anything else, but once past the "lovely" intro the opens up into quite the sonic achievement. Other tracks to take note of are Requiem (a nice little acoustic piece) and The Rise and Fall, the intro of which can easily be mistaken for Avenged Sevenfold. Also No angel which got carried over from the EP is a very good piece of music. // 8
