Sound: This is the dabut album from New Zealand and what a ripper is is. From the opening track "Post No Bills" to the closing instrumental "Double Helix" you get a power packed 14 minutes of solid drum beats, strong bass lines and unusual guitar riffs that you'll eather love of find really anoying. The Mint Chicks bring an all new meaning to the words "time signature" by not really following the rules. Semingly random cuts or extra counts in a bar that would normally sound awful seem to work with the band to make some exciting and memorable tunes. // 9

Lyrics: Although sometimes hard to hear, the lyrics are inventive and the way kody delivers them, with such energy makes it well worth the listen. Post No Bills, Octodon Octogon Octogon, and licking letters are proberly the stand out tracks on the album lyric wise as this verson of Fat Gut Strut (later released on the boys first LP Fuck The Golden Youth) is hard to understand what is being said. // 8

Overall Impression: If You're looking for 14ish mins of raw power then this is for you. Creative drumming from Paul, unusual guitar riffs from rubin, stong and solid bass on michaels part and the dynomite vocals of kody make for an intresting listen and well worth the $15. Post No Bills, Licking Letters, and Octogon, Octogon, Octogon, would be my personal favourates on the album besause of there intense raw power and inventive musical style. If it were stolen then I'd be off to real groovy (local CD store) to pick up another copy right away! // 10
