Sound: Keith's new album packs both political and private hits. It also shows off his writting skills. He co-wrote 11 out of 12 of the songs, all except for American Ride. His sound is as new country as ever, and has the same Big Dog Daddy sound that has become his signature. These are great songs. His sound is all his own, and always has been. // 8
Lyrics and Singing: Keith's writting skills are showcased in this album. Cryin' For Me (Wayman's Song) is a tribute to basketball player and jazz musician Wayman Tisdale. It's written very well, although the lyrics don't go well together through the whole song. Other songs, like Ballad of Balad, Every Dog Has It's Day, and, of course, American Ride, bring out radically new ideas that haven't been used before. American Ride is very, very deep, even though at first impression it sounds like a normal Patriotic Song. In reality, it's a polite way of flicking off everything wrong with America. President Obama, pop-stars, imigration, even Youtube. Still, it's his opinion and he's just sharing it. Joe West and Dave Pahanish are crazy to have written this song. But crazy in a good way. It got Keith another #1 to add to his collection. Way To Go! // 8
Impression: This is definetely his most bold album yet. It hits points of country that haven't been hit before. It offends a little, but it doesn't try not to, if you get what I'm saying. It's an 8 overall. Trust me, I'm a doctor.
Sincerely,
Dr. Guitar (formerly Guitarslinger) // 8
