Zooropean11 :
UFO were always defined by their guitarist: If they had a good guitarist, they made good records. End of story! I'll have to check this one out, sounds interesting.

Correctly said Zooropean11. And since I'm a big fan of the Vin-man, I'm sure this will be good and will get the album soon.....

What is this like in comparison to Phenomenon? That's the only record I have by these.

The Schenker years of UFO from '74 to '79 (thereabouts) are the benchmark for their music – the stuff that inspired the NWOBHM bands like Maiden. Without Schenker, the band was always seemed to searching to find that same type of guitar hero to carry them. They've done a lot a decent work since 1980 (esp. The Wild, The Willing & The Innocent), but nothing quite like Lights Out or Phenomenon. Nonetheless, the review peaks my interest in what they are doing now.

Oh man I love UFO, some people don't even know this band exists, it's all about the dominant metal crossovers, and alternatives have been born and violated, misrepresented, and completely out of place.

First time I heard of them was in a Bon Scott interview when he said that AC/DC is touring with KISS and UFO, it was so hilarious when Bon asked what's KISS's bass player's name was, I will pick up this album soon if I managed to squeeze out some pocket change from my socks.

Thanks for a great article Anonymous Editor you put UG in perspective, and you make coming in here worthwhile which is admirable.

13thirty7, there is no new AC/DC. AC/DC have finally got the recognition it deserves, they started playing in CBGB's and drag bars, pure Hard Rock streams in their blood and the fallacy of your perception will not stop them. Not ever.

Old School pure Hard Rock with huge Blues stuffs... just love it. I like Saving Me, Stop Breaking Down, Can't Buy A Thrill, Forsaken, Stranger In Town... hell, the whole album is good. All hail Vinnie Moore!

Like most of the other classic hard-rock bands that are still together, UFO still creates decent music, but nothing memorable. The playing is very competent, but none of the songs really hooked me in. I love UFO's early material, though.
