Sound: Everything about Christmas With Weezer is explained in the title. Christmas With Weezer is a compliation of six good old fashion Christmas songs with the Weezer sound, and excitement. It's just old skool Weezer playing old skool Christmas songs, and it's amazing. After the summer release of 'The Red Album, ' I never imagined Weezer releasing something this amazing within a year. // 8

Lyrics: Christmas lyrics are almost always extremely catchy, and Weezer's new songs are just that! Rivers Cuomo is amazing on this album. His voice is basically flawless, but in some songs, it was easy to tell he had a hard time singing high enough. If you want a song that's good, but sounds hard for Rivers to sing, listen to O Holy Night. Good job Rivers. // 8

Overall Impression: Being such a small album, and about Christmas one would think it's not that great, but hey, it sure is a hell of a lot better than Make Believe! The first track We Wish You a Merry Christmas has that Blue Album tone to it, with a nice little solo. The next two tracks are probably the best tracks on the album. The rest of the songs are also good, but I could get throught Christmas without them. The way Rivers sings the songs makes them sound so Christmas-ie. Thanks Weezer for releasing this amazing album of Christmas songs! Looking forward to more next year! // 8

Sound: Over the years, it has become a growing cliche' for musicians to release Christmas records. It is expected to hear everyone's favorite Top-40 pop-stars wailing AutoTune-happy renditions of "Jingle Bell Rock." But very rarely is any extra flavor added to those covers. What Weezer does on this album isn't some genre-crossing, innovative record by any means. It is simplistic, but does exactly what it means to: deliver the fun and energy that most Christmas covers lack. Whether we're talking about an overdrive-laced "Come All Ye Faithful" or the layers or Power-Pop vocals on the "Silent Night" cover, you won't be bored. Instead, you'll be dancing like an idiot. Trust me on this. // 8

Lyrics: While the album does a good job with poppy vocals, there's something missing in Rivers Cuomo's vocals. While he does a good job of singing all of these songs note-per-note, he gives us nothing else. Rivers is one of my favorite Pop-Rock singers because of the color he gives his vocals, but this album has none of that. There's no personality and he doesn't sound like he's having fun. He's sounds like he's just singing the notes he reads off some sheet music, and it's the most dissapointing thing on the album. // 5

Overall Impression: Overall, this is a great break from the usual ballads you hear this time of year. This album delivers the fun that Christmas records seem to have lost. It has powerful guitars, and energetic instrumentation. Next time you're at a party, do everyone a favor and play this instead of Josh Groban singing "Silent Night." Everyone will be much happier. // 8
