Sound: I don't know if this DVD is available in the UK because I bought it in Italy. Green Day's DVD took 8 years to come out after the Warning tour. Most likely because of their publicity at the moment with "American Idiot". The DVD itself is satisfactory with the actual sound. There are two parts to the DVD and the first was a 40 minute concert filmed for MTV. This means that in songs such as "Hitchin' A Ride" and "Long View" the swear words are edited out. But the sound none the less is satisfactory. Billie Joe Armstrong's voice hits the notes reasonably well in most songs and the bass lines can be heard well during Mike Durnt's solos such as the intro to "Long View" and "Welcome To Paradise". // 7

Content: "Life Without Warning" has the writing on the DVD box "Live In The US And UK. 1999". This is a lie. The first part of the DVD was filmed in Washington for MTV just after the "Warning" album came out. It says in the Credits that the concert was filmed in 2001. This was a reasonably good show and highlights were defintley "Church On Sunday" and when Billie Joe got members of the crowd to come up and be "The In-Between Band" and play the Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop". Green Day played a minute cover of Billy Idol's "Dancing With Myself" before Billie Joe gave up. The second part of the DVD was filmed in 1997 just after the "Nimrod" album was released. The opening song was " Nice Guys Finish Last " which Billie Joe sang superbly before going onto "Hitchin' A Ride" and "When I Come Around". Two songs that had been played in the previous concert. Billie Joe then walks off stage wearing no trousers and what looks to be a thong. Mike Durnt and Tre Cool trash the stage before Billie Joe comes back to play "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)". Being a selection of tracks up to the "Warning" album I thought that the setlist was pretty good from their back catalogue up to that point. Also songs that are rarely seen played live by Green Day these days such as "Church On Sunday","Geek Stink Breath" and "When I Come Around" make this a most impressive DVD. // 9

Production Quality: Because the first part of the DVD was made for MTV the camera techniques are pretty impressive. Close ups on all band members were included as were bird eye views and crowd views. For some reason however, the camera quality was not as good for this part of the DVD as they were for the second part. The second part had just the same camera views minus the birds eye view but the quality looked better. // 6

Impression: Comparing this DVD to the "Bullet In A Bible" DVD this is a bit of a disappointment. But the fact that seeing Green Day younger and packed with attitude makes the DVD worth buying. The only thing I'd say about being really bad in this DVD is that the second show is edited and this is noticable because after playing "Hitchin' A Ride" it edits to the End of the band playing "Geek Stink Breath" and your left wondering why Billie Joe is not wearing his trousers anymore. If I lost this DVD I may buy it again but it wouldn't be a big miss to my collection. // 6

i used to be a green day fan, but they kinda have sold out. i wouldnt buy this. THE SUBWAYS ROCK. i dont mind the foxboro hot tubs sound, creative of them to come up with the whole concept. but where will Green Day go from here, i mean they were the kings of the world in the rock industry from 2004-2007. everything was Green Day. it would be interesting to see if they can keep that up. also Good CHarlotte suck. soled out big time. lost all respet for them, their old stuff was quitte good. i hate emos. dont follow the trends, use your minds, not your fist.

The DVD seems interesting though, I hadn't heard about it before this review.

I totaly agree the first album i bought by them was dookie, and it was pretty sweet, it was really punk-sounding, it made me wanna go get stoned then punch someone in the face.

I liked it whan they sang punk shit now, all there shit sounds good, but wtf dose "sieg hell to the president gasman", i liked it better when they were more punk.
