Features: Made in 2003 in China. With a good 24 frets so have a perfect 2 octaves to play around with, not too sure on the wood, the frets arnt too small but are the right size for good shredding and the neck is nice and dainty so it's easy to get your hand round. The finish is obviously the custom graphic and is rockin. Its got a string thru body which I view as a bad point as its a bitch to get the strings through. Only one pickup which normally I would not enjoy but this single pick up packs a heavy punch. It came with cables and tools for adjusting the guitar. Only a seven because a tremolo would be nice as would another humbucker plus the string thru irratates the tits offa me. // 7

Sound: This was my first guitar so when it was bought I didn't have a specific style but it is now obvioust to me that it is primarily a heavy metal guitar. As I said theres only one humbucker but it gives out a really heavy sound especially now its fitted with medium Stagg strings (52 on bottom 11 on top). I play it through my carlsboro 25 watt amp but use a Boss Metal Zone pedal which helps give the sound better distortion. It sounds amazing loud or quiet and as I said it's primarily metal (at the moment its tuned to SOAD tuning) but I have and still do play a variety of styles of guitaring on it. // 9

Action, Fit & Finish: The action on it was beyond low which at first was great for me as I prefered it for shredding but due to low action fret buzz was created so I had to higher the action. The guitar has one flaw I can notice and that is that the paint is easily chipped on the spikes. I also highered the pickup too so that it is closer to the strings but thats just my personal taste. // 9

Reliability & Durability: This will definately withstand live playing, I can thrash this as much as possible and it always comes out great. The hardware has lasted me a year so far and looks like it will go on longer. Strap buttons are fine though there placing means that a low quality strap will come off easily. I do depend on this as its my flag ship guitar and will use it first at any gig. As said before the finish comes off easily with gentle knocks so be careful with it. // 8

Impression: Like I said I play lots of styles from blues to heavy metal and this guitar services heavy metal perfectly aswell as playing reasonably well in other styles. My other gear is a Jackson Performer V, a Fender Squier deluxe Strat, a Washburn dreadnought acoustic and these guitars are plugged into my carlsboro amp via either my Boss Metal Zone pedal or my Zoom multi effects pedal and sometimes my Danelectro Phaser and the Spaceface works well next to all this gear. If I were to buy it again I would ask about the action and thats bout it. If lost I would set out to buy a new one as soon as possible. The main thing I fell in love with was just the shape and look, it certainly looks and feels original and gets attention. I wish it had a floyd rose like my Jackson as I think that it would be even better for soloing for it. All in all I love the ironbird and certainly the spaceface and would not part with it. // 9

Features: 2003 Body Art series guitar, similar spec to Platinum series. 24 jumbo frets, maple bolt-on neck and basswood body. String through body and passive bdsm humbucker with volume. Not as tweakable as my Brass City Beast but I love the sound it gives so its all good, although I wanna put dimarzio, Duncan or EMG pickups in both guitars. // 8

Sound: This guitar is made for metal. I mostly stick to black/death metal and grindcore, sometimes straying into thrash or '80s heavy metal, and it can handle all of these perfectly. At the more I'm just running it though a Marshall MG30 DFX and a DigiTech Death Metal and it fookin slays. Ok it's not the most versatile guitar but who buys a BC Rich Ironbird to play f--king jazz or something, this is made for metal and it does it well. Carcass, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Arch Enemy and Satyricon are just a few of the bands I like to cover, and this guitar does'em all. // 10

Action, Fit & Finish: Excellent set up, BC Rich are an excellent brand for setting up their guitars, both I have were perfect when I first played them. The only slight problem is that ironbirds are neck heavy, but all it takes is a breif adjustment between songs to sort that problem out. // 10

Reliability & Durability: Just like my Brass City Beast, this guitar could survive anything I think, although the finish may wear off the guitar will last forever. I'd probably never gig without a backup, but if I did I could get away with it with this guitar, even if it is my backup guitar (the beast is slightly better). // 10

Impression: I play most extreme metal (Zyklon, Morbid Angel, Mayhem, 1349) and this guitar suits them perfectly. I've only been playing for about a year and I own two bcriches, a Marshall MG30 DFX, a DigiTech Death Metal, and my old Squier Showmaster (my guitar that I stick stickers and s--t all over). To be honest the pickups could be better, and I intend fitting EMG HZ-H4 pickups in their place but apart from that this guitar is perfect. I'd advise straplocks for any guitar, but especially pointy ones like this. All I wish it had was a fixed floyd rose and better pickups, but I'm not that bothered about the floyd and the pickups are pretty good. // 10
