Features: Well, its a very attractive guitar, nice looking, with floyd-rose styled tremolo (its not floyd-rose licensed, but its fine anyway!), two EMG-HZs pickups and a third one no-branded (the middle one). Frets are Jumbo. Body is made of basswood. Neck of Rosewood and Canadian Maple. // 10

Sound: Well, this is the most important thing for me. Sound quality and variety is something that this guitar has to offer. With coil-tap and EMG-HZ pickups, you can play from Blues and Hendrix to Pantera and Sepultura. That what I was looking for in the first place, when tough about buying a new guitar! I'm using Guitar Rig 5 for effects and amp simulation, which worked flawlessly! // 10

Action, Fit & Finish: Everything was great when I bought it. From the action to the tremolo adjustment, it all came well adjusted straight from the factory. // 10

Reliability & Durability: I can't say anything for sure so far about its durability, since I've bought it only two days ago, but my impression is that, keeping its price point in mind, the construction is well made and seems will last long and keep the precision. It also keeps the tuning very well even when using the tremolo bar. // 8

Impression: This is a great guitar, excellent choice for anyone looking for a very, very versatile and beautiful guitar. I've considered buying a Jackson or Ibanez RG350, but after playing them, I had not doubt about taking home the Cort X11. // 9

Sound: I had this guitar 6 months and I love it! I play mostly metal. However, I am in an experimental rock/metal band and we incorporate influences of whatever we can to confuse the audience. This guitar is fantastic for metal! I am a huge Pantera fan and this guitar is great for anything from Megadeth and Sepultura to Sabbath and Alice In Chains! The single-coil is called useless by lots of people but it gives a great clean sound and really sings with a bit of chorus. I can play Cemetary Gates and sound like Dime!

There are 9 pick-up variations, making this guitar VERY versatile. IT is also very good for blues. The floyd-rose has great sustain and the guitar can handle high-gain like a pro! // 10

Action, Fit & Finish: It was professionally set-up by the shop so It was perfect for me! Really low. However I re-adjusted the pickups to the optimum hight for me; maximum height (and therefore volume) but low enough so they don't interfere with the floyd-rose. The finish is perfect. Unavoidable tiny pick-scratches from where my friend was careless playing it. (bloody heavy-handed bassists, eh?!) // 10

Reliability & Durability: I've played live with this and it's been fine. // 10

Impression: great guitar. A pro guitar at a low low price. It's a steal! Try the X-6 if this is a bit too pricey for you. They're basically the same.I chose the X-11 cos it has more bass response to my ears. // 10

Price paid: $ 450

Purchased from: Braganza

Features: Made in Indonesia, this axe comes with 24-jumbo frets, two EMG-OC1 humbuckers(neck and bridge), and a middle SC1 single coil, bosswood body, rosewood fingerboard, three piece maple neck and a maple flame top. The body is contoured, and it has a shitty Cort generic floating Bridge of the Floyd Rose type. The pickups are passive, but high gain. There is a 5-way Switch, a volume and a tone knob (push pull). It has coil tap, which means by pulling the tone knob up your humbuckers operate as single coils. The tuners are locking, as it has a double locking Floyd Rose like tremolo system. Now considering the price I paid for this guitar($450), I would say that this guitar has lots of more features than you would expect. There are far more inferior axes out there which are more costly. // 10

Sound: I play metal, from high gain riffs to very soothing arpeggios. This guitar has not dissapointed me yet. I have a Ibanez TSA15H tube head, I use it through the Ibanez 112C cabinet. For distortion I use the DigiTech TL2 metal distortion (which is amazing), Boss DD-7, Boss BD-2, Digitech RV-7 reverb, Boss NS-2 for noise supression and I have a TS9 built on the front end of my amp. With this setup I can get all kinds of crazy tones out, from high gain metal core riffs to absolutely warm overdrive tones similar to that of buckethead or an extremely clean distortion for shredding. Using the coil-taps you can get a really thin sound, and if you want a fat tone you just use the humbuckers. Dry clean tones are not that amazing, but along with delay and reverb it sounds nice. It is important to adjust the volume and tone knobs properly in this axe to get a good tone out of it as the pickups are high gain ones. I have used other guitars on my setup also like the Blackjack-ATX, the X-11 sounds as good to me as the other guitars did. But the thing about this Cort X-11 axe is that it wont restrict you to just one style of playing like most other axes do. You will find yourself playing thrash, shred, and stuff like opeth also with this axe because of its tonal range, from warm (when you have the tone knob low and you are using the neck humbuckers) to very bright (when you are using the neck humbuckers and have coil tap on, and your tone knob is maxed out). This guitar has a bit of a hum when you have the coil tap as well as distortion on, but I use the NS-2 to do away with it (it kind of messes up my picking dynamics, but I use the coil-tap normally for clean tones, and there is no noise then, so I don't have use the NS-2). // 8

Action, Fit & Finish: This guitar came with nines, but I put tens instead and readjusted the truss rod, action myself to get all string buzz off and still having a comfortable touch. I moreover have a constant action all over the fretboard and my string action is not that high, I can shred comfortably on the action I have. There are no string buzzes. With this guitar I would recommend you to use tens, because some other guys I know who own this guitar use nines and they have to deal with fret buzz all the time. I also reduced the pickup heights to get a good tone out of it. It did not sound as good with the factory setting than after I adjusted the pickup heights. // 9

Reliability & Durability: This is where I bring up the only flaw about this guitar. It has a really sh-tty bridge. I broke my saddles twice (I don't know, it assholes whom I loaned my guitar might be responsible for that happening than the poor bridge). I got fustrated and got it replaced with a Floyd Rose liscenced bridge, and playing this guitar after having the Bridge replaced has been a far better experience. The Bridge is probably not that bad as I describe it, but I myself had a bitter experience owning this guitar because of the bridge.I would say that the guitar is flawless in all other respects (and it only comes for $450). I have used this guitar live numerous times and it has never broken down while playing live (The Bridge saddles broke during string replacement, when I loosened the nuts, and co-incidentally just after loaning it). // 7

Impression: This guitar has been an ideal match for the kind of music I play. If I lose this guitar and I have only $500, I would definitely buy this axe again. If I have, say $800, then I would hesitate to buy this axe again and try some other guitar instead. I would say that if you are low on cash and want to get a good guitar, the Cort X-11 is the best axe you can get. // 9

Features: Very nice features, very good value in my opinion. this is a 2006 model, made in indonesia. Absolutely beautiful bodywork, trans red. passive pickups (aren't great but they do the job well) mine came with a lead and that's it. This guitar is heavy, heavier than my Squier Strat, which I had before this one. The trans red finish looks nice, has a nice varnishy feel to it. beats a lot of other guitars on looks anyday. // 8

Sound: I play metal with my band, mostly Iron Maiden down to Slayer type thrash. I use it along with my Boss MT-2 and Korg AX10G, on heavy distortion, I can control my sound well, sustain is good and on the neck pickup, I get a good lead sound, pickups are sensitive to pinch harmonics and tapping. I get a good sound also in the lower registers of the guitar. However on clean, the guitar is not so great. The coil tap does help, but it takes time to pull it, and if you pull it too hard, it falls off. So I suggest if you get this guitar that you buy your own volume and tone knobs. These fall out easily and there aren't any numbers to tell you what your settings are like. With careful tweaking, though, I reckon one could squeeze a metal sound out of this beauty. The single coil pickup is pointless, just leave that there, If I were to change anything, I'd put in an emg 81 at the bridge and keep the same neck pickup so I can use the coil tap to get a fairly decent clean sound. Although I wouldn't do that anyway. // 6

Action, Fit & Finish: Mine was setup already by the shop, however they messed up the truss rod a bit and the neck is bending in a bit. The action is so low that there's a bit of fret buzz, but I find it comfortable. The guitar arrived in tune, the strings were locked at the nut. The pickups were adjusted as high as possible without hitting the strings when I move the floyd rose. Intonation is good. The only disappointment was the tone and volume knobs which come off easily. The side of the neck looks silly though, because it is plastic. but it will last. The shop also filed down the corners of the frets (maybe because they were too sharp). // 8

Reliability & Durability: As with all guitars with a floyd rose or any other floating bridge, when a string snaps, you are buggered big time. However, I wouldn't worry too much, since even if you had a fixed bridge guitar and a string snaps, you can replace it with a new string but the string would keep stretching anyway. So I'd gig with a backup anyway. This guitar is more reliable than my old Squier, and I've gigged with that (how embarressing). It stays in tune very well because of the locks at the nut. Paintwork looks great but there has already been a chip (I bought it new three weeks ago) and the paint is cracking around the bolt. The machine heads don't look too sturdy, and neither are the strap buttons. The strap buttons are tiny, either change them or buy some straplocks. // 6

Impression: I had to wait 11 weeks for this guitar since ordering it. It wasn't the shops fault, Cort simply had a problem with their dealer in the UK and had to spend 10 weeks manufacturing and shipping these guitars over from indonesia. I play metal as I just said and it fits it perfectly with my rig. I own a Squier Strat and have been playing since not very long ago (I forget). I am quite happy with this guitar, it is all aesthetics for this guitar in my opinion. If it were stolen, then I'd hunt down the dick Who stole it, punch HIM and then string the strings through his genetalia and then get a sledgehammer and, well you get the idea. I'd buy this guitar again if I wanted to stay in this budget range. I'm sure though if I had the money I'd go for something more expensive like the ESP M-1000 Deluxe. I think this guitar is going to last me long enough for me to see the paintwork wear down completely, everything looks failsafe. in the process of my choosing a guitar, I kicked out every possible guitar out of the league, firstly because they all were too expensive, (over £100 more than this), secondly this looks nicer, and thirdly if I bought one of those I would need to change the pickups anyway. I wish that this had a proper floyd rose, the floyd rose here will do but it will wear down some day. I compared this guitar to the ESP M-200FM, the B.C. Rich's Speedloader Warlock, and some Ibanez guitar, but I liked this much better. // 9
