rockhead77 :
is this guitar as bright sounding like a gibson or does it have a daarker tone like most other epiphone's?

KenG :
Gibson USA makes the pickups foor all Elitists and I think the sound is very close to the Gibson and not as muddy or mid-range/honky sounding as standard Epi's (which is a common complaint).

i played this the other day and i would have to say that it was truely disapointing. Not nice to play at all. I think id rather a strat for a better feel.

I'm surprised you found one "in stock" somewhere as they usually have to be ordered in. Are you sure you weren't playing a standard Epi Gold Top? It's also possible the guitar was poorly set up as mine were when I received them or you just don't like the fatter, rounder neck profile of a Gibson over the slimmer, shaloower one of a Strat!

I thought about it but there's already been a couple of reviews done on it. To be honest other than weight (reason unkown my LP standard is heavier) and finish there's little differnce between the two.

The 56' is a standard Epi not an Elitist. There's no way it would compare in quality.
