My overall impression is this guitar is amazing! It's a great quality guitar with a reasonable price, there's no need to save for months to get a good guitar.

This guitar is built for if you can only take one guitar somewhere you choose this guitar because its not only an electric guitar it can be acoustic or both! Plus it has a built in tuner so you can tune right on the spot (when tuning no sound will come out of your amp). // 10
Sound: On this guitar it has Epiphone ProBucker-2 and the Epiphone ProBucker-3 both sound great! I use this guitar for mostly everything (considering its my Favourite in my house). But it is also great for a church because it is not to crunchy, very sweet and can be an acoustic! This guitar is also good for playing with a band and recording at the same time because of the way you can have two outputs at once, you can put one output into your amp and the other into your mixer board to record right into your computer. // 8
Action, Fit & Finish: The guitar set-up is good it is very light and very comfortable, its perfrect for just sitting around and playing with. I got the midnight blue, and it looks amazing! At first I wasn't sure but when I went to guitar center it was defintly the best finish with no mistakes at all. // 7
Reliability & Durability: This guitar is very durable, I have another Epiphone that the strap falls off a ll the time and I think the strap only fell off once and it was during practice, and this is definitely like I said before if you are going somewhere and you only have room for one guitar TAKE THIS ONE! It is amazing with no need for a backup at all. // 6
Impression: My overall impression is this guitar is amazing! I could easily compare it to other Gibsons I played! That's why I love Epiphone because its a great quality guitar with a reasonable price, there's no need to save for months to get a good guitar. If this thing was ever stolen or lost, buying a new one would be my first priority. The only thing I wish it had is... Um I'm not sure because it does everything, although what would make it even more amazing if it had sustenance pick-ups on it, because then it would surely be the only guitar you will ever need anywhere. // 10

Price paid: $ 450
Purchased from: eBay
Features: 2011, Chinese model. You can get the specs online. // 6
Sound: My preference is bluesy rock, it suits the genre well with the right Rig. I use a Marshall, Boss GT6. The probucker are different, definitely not burstbucker quality but their own. The combo of the Nano and Neck pickup gives you a sound that you can't get with just splitting the neck and bridge pups, its got a syrupy thick twang. The Bridge and Nano are just entirely to treble happy when combined. One thing is for certain, to get the most from this guitar you Need two amps. The mono (2 in 1) jack is a far cry from its stereo potential. It's night and day. // 8
Action, Fit & Finish: Alas the brass tacks. Mother effing fret buzz... yes mine has it. Is it annoying, yup! I've heard its the Nano magnet that causes it because its such a powerful magnet that's seated on the fretboard very close to the strings. Who knows... But! For some mystical reason when I ran two amps it cannot be heard. I'm not sure why, and this wasn't because I masked it with insane distortion. The neck is satin, you slide down the neck like baby oil on a slip and slide. Great feature! The finish is Heritage cherry, and gorgeous. AAA flamed maple is fine! The tuners hold a tune well, and the electronic tuner is vivid and accurate. // 7
Reliability & Durability: Would I gig with it. Ummmm yup, would I have a backup, damn right. That's a must idc if you're sporting a 59' Gibson that Les himself handcrafted and flew down from guitar heaven to give you. Bottom line $h!T happens. Always have a backup. Especially with anything electronic, and this guitar is essentially that. // 7
Impression: Overall, I paid 450. It's worth that or a little more. If I lost it I'd be pissed that I was out 450. I'd get another if the price was right.
Pros: good sound minus the buzz... Very wide sound range, beautiful finish even for China, cool technology, holds a tune great.
Con's: made in China, electronics are always eventually going to fail. And the fret buzz can be a nuisance.
If you're a perfectionist move on to a tribute or better. If you can handle some imperfections this may just be the guitar for you... // 7
No negative comment on action, fit and finish and it gets a 7? and you put reliability and durability down to a 6 because the strap fell off once during practice? sounds odd to me..
The guitar comes with a Shadow NanoMag installed. It's located at the end of the fretboard, and it emulates an acoustic guitar. By pushing down the push-push button on the tone control (i think?) you can shift between only hearing the probuckers, the probuckers and the nanomag and the third option is nanomag only.
It has a piezo which gives acoustic-like sounds. I had the Ultra-II which was a fairly... Well, it was a versatile guitar missing some key pieces. Pieces which, ultimately, kept it off a majority of my music. They supposedly fixed the jackplate problem by making it out of metal this time around, and I severely hope... HOPE, that they fixed the bracing problems I encountered for the chambered body.
Damnit Epiphone! Since I bought my Ultra 1 two years ago, theyve since already rolled out the 2 and 3 with all these extra features I want. At least mine has the gold hardware that these Ultra 3's don't come with
I don't know if all the features this guitar has are necessary. Like I wouldn't need my guitar to have a built in tuner. Or USB option. You could buy a multi FX pedal if you want to record.
I don't know... This guitar isn't just for me. Too much technology inside the guitar.
the thing is whether you personally would or wouldnt want a built in tuner or usb connection port is irrelavent, there is no denying that this guitar is an amazing bit of equipment.
I bought one of these and i really do love it. it isn't really a master of any one thing but is very versatile which is perfect if you're like me and play a wide range of music
I know it has been said above that these are very versatile, but does anybody have CONSTRUCTIVE feedback on how good it sounds for many types of metal, as that is basically what I play? I may want one of these in the future, just wondering what others thought...
@ metallic..... Actually if you combine the nano and the probuckers on the mono ( one amp ) you get a high gain sound , depending on your amp it may be good enough for some metallica type metal , if your looking for a really hot sound well .... The probuckers are epis version of Gibson probuckers , more tuned toward jazz, and rock sounds . Imo true metal has to have a very hot pup , probably active . But w processors now you can get a metal sound from a esteban guitar.... Jk . The only way to really know is to test it yourself .
Seriously with the fret buzz people? I have played 3 of these now and bought one. The only fret buzz that exists is in your Gibson biased minds.
This guitar is extremely well made and functional. Only one tone knob, but that doesn't really matter because you can achieve every tone your looking for and more. The nano-pickup is clean, but could use more bass. The probuckers offer great distortion and combined with the nano-acoustic pickup offer a more punchier sound that is even more distinct than a single-coil sounds.
I own it and it is an absolute fabulous guitar. I don't use the acoustic pickup much though but maybe lots of others do. I love the built in tuner, it even silences the output when your tuning.
Overall it is an awesome guitar!
