dude, they've had similar models to this for ages. This particular model you have has only been out for a year. IN fact i think they had the exact same one out before, but just with other PUPS or something else really trivial.

yeah it was the dave mustaine signature, with seymour duncans and an eight ball inlay

The Dave Mustaine model was slightly different i beleive. ESP Would of had to change it after Dave left.

anyone know what the V-200 is like?
POSTED: 06/12/2007 - 04:33 am / quote |
.:Darkness:. :
well its a cheaper version of the V-500.
major differences are its bolt-on neck and EMG ESP LH-300 Pickups, instead of the 81's that come in the 500.

Specs:
The V-200 Features Bolt-On Construction, 25.5" Scale Length, Basswood Body, Maple Neck w/ Rosewood Fingerboard, Standard Nut, 42mm Nut Width, Thin U Neck Shape, Dot Inlays, 24 XJ Frets, White Binding on Neck & Headstock, Black Nickel Hardware, ESP-LTD Tuners, Tune-o-Matic Bridge w/ String-Thru-Body, EMG-ESP LH-300 Set Pickups, 2 Volume, 1 Tone & Toggle Switch.

Try www.guitarsfromhell.com.au I have a deal there waiting for me on this guitar, $1599 including postage.

the v-200 will be cheaper, just email them about it and they should get in touch

Hanger 17 :
What deal did you get? Thanks heaps for that, is that DV8 actually a DV8 or a DV8-R? and thats awesome for that price, now all i need is $1500 i sent them an e-mail and everything already but i dont know how many they have in stock! could either turn out really good or real depressing lol
POSTED: 07/12/2007 - 02:25 am / quote |
.:Darkness:. :
Im getting mine for $2059 with livewires and a case.

They have both the DV8 and the DV8-R. on the ESP page go to page 5 then click next. there is an extra 4 pages after page 5 so look through them.

POSTED: 07/15/2007 - 01:07 am / quote |
Hanger 17 :
Are you talking about the DV8-R and the DV-200 or do they actually have a DV8 there. When are you getting it? What colour, cause im now getting a silver one with livewires and a case for $1699

I was just wondering how LTD compares to ESP. I know they are the same, but I want to know if there is much difference in quality.
POSTED: 07/23/2007 - 04:20 am / quote |
kokevinny :
LTD guitars are of lesser quailty than ESP guitars in that they are usually produced in Korean factories instead of Japanese factories. LTD guitars have less human labour, and are prone to have small defects in the paintjob. However, it should be noted that LTD guitars are good enough to be used on stage by Glen Drover of Megadeth (and man other bands like static x).

They actually have the DV8 there hanger. Its something like $6,000.

i WAS getting the V-500 with livewires + case but now I'm looking more at an amp. Nothings final for me, I'm also loving the MH-1001 but you know, amp first I'm thinking.

i was hoping they would keep dave's design after he switched to Dean. if you haven't played this design, you must. the feel of the neck contour and the v shaped body is just incredible. i'm an EMG fan so i really want to get one of these! i also didnt like how the Dave Mustain verison had an 8 ball inlay and his signature on the headstock. i like having guitars feel like their your own custom guitar, not someone else's. this guitar is perfect.

its no wonder Lee Atlus, Ralph Santolla, and the Coyle brothers from God Forbid use it.

Hanger17, I just test played an DV-200 today, and it was fantastic. It DOES have a bolt on neck, that's the worst thing. Also, I am not sure if it's the ESP/EMG LH-300's on there, the pickups on the one I played were Seymour Duncan open humbuckers.

BEAUTIFUL tone though, I was playing some thrashy Megadeth/Iron Maiden through a 65 watt Crate Flexwave, and I near on fell in love. Just before that, I played a couple of EPiphone Pauls and SG"s, and a Korina V, and the LTD DV-200 blew it out of the water, Seriously.

I m so lucky to live in holland at music store(Cologne, Germany, www.music-store.de) they have the ESP LTD V-200 for €469 ~ $677 and ESP LTD V-500 for €799 ~ $1155!!

Spencer1570, there is no such thing as looking "funny" on a guitar! As long as you have a guitar in your hands, you will be a badass. If you do feel like you are overwhelmed by the size, you can always lower the guitar to a lower point on your body to make yourself look bigger compared to the guitar.

ashish_2903 :
The only thing I have a problem with about this guitar is the position of the control knobs and pickup selector.
If you're shredding on stage and switch between the neck and bridge pickup consistently, the volume knobs gets in the way of this.

I recommend rewiring the thing to take out the tone control altogether and replace that pot with the other volume knob. Then get a diamond plate faceplate and replace the plastic plate this comes stock with. Then you will be man.
