Fender are much better value for money, although there's no disputing Gibson also make some pretty nice guitars. I go for Fenders over Gibson; I prefer how Fenders feel, though that is personal preference... I think people should just get what they prefer, since both are clearly manufactureres of quality instruments!

fenders are way better then a gibson. Gibson i give you props great guitars, great great guitars. but fender= wonderful magnificent guitars. i just bought my chrome red fender cyclone like last week and i am currently waiting for it to be shipped. i love seattle sound music (a.k.a. grunge for those who dont know) and the setup on the cyclone is perfect for some NIRVANA. atomic humbucker in the bridge to hold up the distortion complemented with a tex-mex single coil for the trademark fender sound. im a huge fan of the somewhat less popular fenders, (mustangs, jaguars, jazzmaster). I considered a 65 mustan reisse but the two single coils threw me off and onto the cyclone bandwagon. It is similar to a jagstang, Kurt Cobain's late signature, which will be my next guitar i purchase.i have always loved the silver plate around the knobs and such must be the reason why i said if i ever played bass id buy a fender j bass. I love the pickup selector switch and the neck, bothresemble a les paul because a les paul uses the same switch and has the same neck length. i had a selector switch similar to the one on a strat on my last guitar but i sometimes would hit it down and i didnt like that. as in features and changable things, i love the pearloid pickguard and the knobs. my friend said "you need to get a new pickguard once you get it" but i just told him if i did it would bethe same...i love the pearloid. another thing about the neck length..i also like it because it will allow me to use heavier strings....i dont like playing threw my boss ds-1 and hearing the jangling when i pick over the distortion.. anyways.. thats it im off

"you will only ever need 3 guitars.. a strat, a tele and a les paul" i have heard this from various (good) guitarists and i believe it is true...thats not to say you shouldn't buy more different types but these three are the best and industry standards

I've seen a cyclone in a local store used for £350, i love it, i'm gonna buy it once they sort out the damaged pickup selector switch.

Gibson Guitars for pure sound hammer fender in my opinion. But Fenders Trounce them when it comes to looks and the neck. Personaly i would fit a fender with humbuckers and deacent pickups (bare knuckle or di mazrio) and that would be a killer combo.
thts mi personal opinion tho
