Price paid: £ 350

Purchased from: Musicroom

Features: It has 21 frets, made in Mexico, Maple neck, Alder body which in my opinion gives the best tone on the Fender, Floating Bridge tremolo, Original contour body, Passive electronics, 1 volume 2 tone knobs, Standard American pickups, Fender tuners which on my guitar are really stable. It came with a Gig bag, cable, tools and a cloth to keep it dust free. The guitar is incredibly versatile i will talk more about that later, it comes with a lot of features for what i pay, it was literally a steal. // 10

Sound: Well now talking about the versatility im going to be honest with what i say when, it can do anything its pretty damn versatile. Ive been able to play many Hendrix songs, also some 311 songs. What also amazed me was the fact i was able to get a Gibson Les Paul tone which i thought was pretty good as they are both totally different. The Bridge and neck pick up are incredibly mellow, and the treble pick up was very bright. I was also amazed with the ability it has to 'scream' it has a considerable amount of output, and pinch harmonics sounded incredible on it. I used a Marshall amp, and i could play songs from, classic music to blues, to metal to jazz fusion its really versatile. // 8

Action, Fit & Finish: The action was nice and low but not too low, the intonation was perfect, the pickups where perfectly adjusted from the get go. There were no flaws at all, considering it being MIM thats very lucky everything was perfect. The feel of the guitar was some what remarkable it felt perfect from when i picked it up and it was smooth, i personaly think the best gauge for the guitar are 9's but thats down to personal preference. // 10

Reliability & Durability: This guitar is incredibly strong its been knocked about, dropped by careless people who wanted to have a go. But its lasted and i expect it to last for a long time if not, Fender gave me a warranty which, if my guitar is destroyed, they will replace it for me. It has a 3 year warranty. Everything is solid nothing moves much pickups don't move at all, machine heads are solid. I have played it for 12 hours at a time and it hasn't gone out of tune but if you are rough with the tremolo it has a tendency to go out, but i never use it so its not a problem. // 10

Overall Impression: Ever since i started which was a year ago i was obsessed with Hendrix, and i can play, All along the watch tower, Purple Haze, Little wing, Voodoo child and Hey Joe. I can play Fer elise, i can play beat it with the solo and its possible to get that tone. The guitar seems to be capable of most things. I can also play the solos and the guitar has a lot of personality to its tone, it can cry and sing and scream. If i ever lost it or it was stolen not sure its possible to lose it though. I would buy it again, but i would play as many MIM strats as i can to find the best one. // 9
