I have a Mexican Fat Strat bought from GuitarCenter for $500... I like the sound but the intination was off, but I think thats 'cause it was a used guitar. The colors midnight wine red.. Hells yeah.

This baby in 3 tone sunburst, plugged into my vox AD50VT amp, kicks ass.

freebyrd32 :
ive had mine for about 8months and the only problems are the input jack is loose and the pickgaurd is peeling up, other than that its a solid guitar

I'm getting one in Arctic White with the rosewood fretboard. Perfect strat look IMO.

Would you HSS strat owners recommend it for an upgrade purchase? I'm thinking of buying one but don't want to waste money on a beginner/medioker guitar. How is it in "advance" specs?

that JimmyPageSlash douche is retarded. Neither Jimmy Page nor Slash used Single Coil pups. They both primarily used Les Paul, which do not have single coils.

Halogen300 :
SilverFix69,

i think JimmyPageSlash ment that MOST of the bands/artists he named (Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Guns n' roses) used single coil(Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix)and the rest of the few(Zeppelin, GNR)use humbuckers.

Black, with maple fretboard, and a black pickguard (if I buy one of these, I'm gonna replace it)

Uncle Gibson :
I consider the idea of bying a mexican fat strat, that would be my second guitar, I already own Aria XL DLX guitar, so please I have two questions:
1. Is it really THAT versatile guitar, because I want some guitar that can play blues, rock, hard rock, heavy metal and power metal?
2. (this is some kind of very stupid question) Is there any in 3-color sunburst color?
Because I always wanted Fender Stratocaster in that color, but i think that mexicans are produced only in brown sunburst.

Thanks!

@guitardude1039

i couldnt decide between a standard tele and a strat, i was leaning more towards tele coz it looks so different and everyone has a strat, but then i thought, i dont know anyone with a fat strat, so ive decided on a fat strat (arctic white) i have a thing for white guitars
POSTED: 12/08/2007 - 01:00 am / quote |
dr_92 :
hey i was wondering, if the pickups would need to be changed? ive seen sets for strat and tele but i havent seen a pickup set for fat strat, so i was wonderin if someone could tell me where to get them from

BassManX :
i helped my friend pick out this guitar, imo the only really appeling colors are black/midnightwine/sunburst with maple fret board, the rose wood makes the guitar look much cheaper and common ( sorry if i offend anyone) and can some one tell me if theres a way to change the pickup "covers" on the humbucker?

The solo in Stairway to Heaven was recorded on a Tele. And Slash has a huge collextion of guitars, so im guessing he has used some singles in his life.

Yeah, and besides, I saw an interview with slash saying he used a Stratocaster in studio alot...

SO BLAH!

Jimmy page used a wide assortment of guitars, including strats, teles, and even a danelectro. Slash found his signature sound with a les paul through a marshall, like so many other rock guitarists.
