It would make sense that Canadian-based guitar manufacturer Godin (also responsible for Seagull acoustic guitars) rarely is mentioned alongside the American-made counterparts. The 5th Avenue Kingpin II has become one of their most popular models so we had to check it out.

This guitar is an archtop. It is very light and comfortable to play. The neck is fairly thin and is very easy to play. The tuners that come with the guitar hold a tune very well.

The Detour was made in the USA with hand built parts from Canada. Using some of the finest materials to its maple/rosewood medium neck to its power coated black finish tuners.

The whole guitar is made of mahogany except for the fretboard which is 22 frets long and made of rosewood. The body is absolutely stunning with a single cutaway design with a glossy finish on the body.

This guitar is a great alternative to a Fender Stratocaster, especially at its price range. It has the single coil sounds that we know and love, yet doesn't make it muddy.

This guitar is very very durable, very sturdy stuff, very very heavy (heavy like a Gibson guitar), but it got hit pretty bad and got 'abused' in live playing, yet the finish and the wood is intact.

It has a nice jazzy sound that is perfect for pop, hard rock, and prog. It is not an aggressive guitar though.
