It costs 300 in a shop in my neighboorhoud... the GRG270 costs 260,
wich is better?
I saw the GRG270 for 300-500 on the internet,
and the RG321 for 230-270

Nemesis_brood :
Well, it's your choice, but you get what you pay for. Those are both great guitars but I would go with the GRG270 because of the locking tuners. But if your not picky about this I would go with the RG321 because there is absolutly no buzz. (the GRG270 has a middle single coil pickup.)

OttovanZanten :
"I was comparing it to an Epiphone Les Paul Special and some ESP. But I got this one over all of them."

Epiphone Les Paul Special is a crappy startersguitar (that costs 180 in a stor near my home)
not worht comparing, lol

Nemesis_brood, tnx for the advice
I think i'm going to buy this guitar

Me again =þ
I bought it, just tested it for an hour or 2 and it rocks (but im still a beginner, so i wouldn't hear if it sucked badly)
cost me 299 euro's wich is about... 372.281 dollars (according to XE.com)
(Guitars are expensive in holland =(=P)

I have seen this and a SA120 both for £185
(around 342 dollars)
Which one is better?
Thanks in advance!

duggyrocks :
How come the pic doesnt show humbuckers?
POSTED: 07/11/2006 - 12:25 pm / quote |
OttovanZanten :
Tom6190,
I actually like the SA120 a lot too, in local stores here the SA120 costs more, and i think it is better, atleast the neck felt better to me, did not properly test it.

duggyrocks,
It shows the bridge humbucker and half of the neck humbucker,

hm.. the 'frames' around the humbuckers are chrome on my guitar, maybe cus i have the black version that no1 likes except for me ^^

Ibanez & SoundControl website says it has a mahogany body NOT basswood

why have so many people said its made from basswood when the site says "mahogany"

OttovanZanten :
beauty of this guitar compared to GRG's, because it doesn't have the single coil it has 1 option the others don't have, u can connect the neck humbucker parallel (instead of serial) wich gives you a much nicer sound on clean, after about 9 months of playing with SCREAMING distortion, i realise there's more then that =P

But if u buy 1 of the GRG's u have a singlecoil, mayB that gives a nice clean sound to, but u don't have to buy a GRG becus of the single coil for nice cleans, cus this 1 can sound like a single coil 2 ^^

Spit it out :
im thinking of getting this guitar and it looks perfect for me, but as for the humbuckers i was thinking about changing them for EMG's 81 and 85, would this be worth it. p.s i play mainly slipknot style stuff...

usually mahogany has a warmer tone and is an all around better wood.

tlfdfirefighter :
by the way, if anyone plans to buy the mahogany oil RG321, guitar center has it for $280, but http://www.music-n-sound.com/guitars/ibanez/rg321mh.htm has it for %250... so you can get guitar center to match it.

i bought this guitar about a year ago...
its been great ever sense. the neck is really easy to slide up and down on. the only bad side i found about it is the bols on the pick ups fall out easily some people might say the ibanez curse.. o well besides that this is a GREAT guitar its better than any epiphone or shecter or any other guitar in its price range..great buy

how come its so hard to find a black one nowadays? all you can find is in mahogany oil or gray nickel. I really want it in a dark color, being black.
POSTED: 01/23/2007 - 10:16 pm / quote |
tlfdfirefighter :
All I have got to say is that the mohagany oil might not look like it would fit an electric, but let me tell you it suprised me when I took the risk to buy it. as soon as I took it out of the box it amazed me. I havn't had the problems some other ppl have had tho...like the bols on the pups...which is strange. I havn't had any screws come loose either, just change it to your liking and itll play like a dream. I play metallica and it sounds awesome with that style, I am playing it through a Line 6 Spider III combo amp.

Just a little question, that may actually sound newbish...

If I change pickups, I will still be able to use all the 5 pickup switches, right?

I'm in the market for a new axe specifically for hard rock/heavy metal playing, and I'm looking to keep the price in the $300 range (don't play as much as I used to, and big $$ on a guitar just doesn't make sense right now). Anyway, I'm torn between the RG321 and the ADD120. TONS of reviews on the RG321, but next to nothing on the ADD120 - anyone have any experience or input? Any help is much appreciated!
POSTED: 10/24/2007 - 03:46 pm / quote |
rayq78 :
please be accurate....RG321 is made of basswood, while RG321MH is mahogany. MH for mahogany...ok??...
