you're right, the indian made JS30WR is amazing, and personally, i like the string thru body more.

The body is execptional, along with the guitar. Even the EMG look alikes pickups are fine, so no need for changing them. The only thing about this guitar which made me stutter abit (lol?) its was the fat E string otherknown as the sixth string ( For noobs ). It sorta gives a gay buzzing sound when you hold it down on the fret board, but who knows i've purchased a used peace so i maybe new ones are flawless.Oh and as for the tuning the guitar is kickass, i'd preffer you play this on marshall amps cuase they just simply rock or as the reviewer above mentioned. GREAT GUITAR KICK-a** !

love the guitar. everything is great about it it took me about 2 years to realise you could pull out the pot and it would get loader!. i put some tribal guitar stickers on it and it looks even better!! BUT i had to lower the action on mine was a tad to high but apart from that no problems!

im seriously confused by this... on the jackson website it doesnt mention the turbo charge thing but it does say it has emg actives but all the webstores i look at have it the other way around. does anyone know 1: which is right? 2: why that mistake is so frequent?

anyway, i thought emg hz were passive pickups, and emg 81/85 were actives. am i wrong, or what?

Wykidtron :
^youre on the right track. When they first reintroduced the WRMG Warrior, in 2001 I believe, they came with EMG hz's and yes they were passive. However these models came with the "TurboCharger" which allowed for a 20db pregain with the help of a 9 volt and this was activated by the pop-up volume pot others have mentioned. I forget which year they started making the EMG 81/85 combo standard, but all current model MG series Warriors come with these pickups, which of course are active so they stopped putting the turbocharger on them. If you see a WRMG with emg hz's for sale as new, the seller is lying and selling you old backstock as new.

Oh yeah the guy who gave this guitar a bad review saying it goes out of tune constantly and works only intermittantly is clueless. He doesnt mention specifically what is failing electronicly(probably because he has no clue and its probably as simple as weak springs/bad connection at the output jack) nor does he mention which model he has(probably a WRMG judging by his purchase price). While the Floyd Roses on these guitars are the licenced version vs. the original, they are still quality tremelos and WHEN PROPERLY SET UP INCLUDING BEING INTONATED they stay in tune...period. It must be understood that on a floyd rose, when you put new strings on it will go out of tune a couple of times as the strings settle, even if you pre-stretch them, but after that its dead on. Its initial going out of tune is more noticable than on a string through guitar because on a floyd rose the tuning of one string effects the tension and tuning of all the other strings.

Proud owner of a WRMG w/ 10 guage D'Adarrios tuned a step down and sitting at just over a millimeter at the 24th fret with just the slightest fret buz on low E. I love this guitar.

I have the electronic problem with my WRMG as well, its a beautiful guitar in every way except the dumbass who wired it put the neck pickup wire under an extreme amount of strain, so i had to re attach the pickup a couple times...also ive had to re solder the wires a bunch of times due to a cutting out when i switch pickups, the guitar will hesitate and I'll have to slam down on the strings if im playing with distortion for the sound to kick in...its really annoying, i havent been able to use it for shows, I would also rather buy something with an origional Floyd...guess ill stick to my ESP DV8-r for awhile longer

TheReverend :
i think a lot of you are reviewing the wrong guitar here. this is the Jackson WRMG. It has ACTIVE EMG 81/85 PICKUPS. NOT HZ's. Also, those of you who have tuning problems, this thing has a licensed floyd rose. which is still a double locking trem. it DOESNT go out of tune if you SET IT UP properly and LET THE STRINGS SETTLE.

anyway, ive been looking at a lot of guitars, and i must say, this one seems well worth the extra cash. not to mention that i love jacksons.

ive had an esp viper 400 for a long time now, so emg 81/85's are kind of a necessity for me. i want something with a floyd rose and here is what seems like the perfect guitar for me. definately will be my next investment.

POSTED: 12/08/2006 - 05:03 pm / quote |
Wykidtron :
Actually like I said earlier, they didnt start putting the active 81/85s in until the 2006 models I believe. Before that the WRMGs all came with EMG HZ's, the H3s to be exact. I have an 01 WRMG and the pickups have EMG-HZ right freakin on em.

WRXT-Warrior :
I have this baby with 2 duncans and all the rests plus a boss metal zone and it rocks hard!!!I play prograssive-nu metal and the sound is perfect... Trusty for a gig and very comfortable for its design (by the way, venom, it might not be that beutiful, but trust me it is special) everyone gets more excited when they learn that you have a jackson than a gibson...

AN AWSOME GUITAR!!!!!

-marshall avt20x
-peavey transtube 110 EFX
-marshall mg30dfx
-line 6 spiderIII 75

i have a couple questions about this guitar... for one, where the hell is the input jack and two, does the floyd rose make string changing hard? i got a bc rich with a floyd on it but its easy to change due to the fact its a string-through body, but this one i heard you have to lift up the bridge and go under the floyd into the bottom of it. i have no idea how to do this and is it really that hard to change strings?

just ordered one of these, its on the way but unfortunately the 'optional case' wasn't optional, but i could do with a case rather than a gig bag; could anyone recommend a flight case that this guitar would fit in, or would it just fit in one designed for strats or super strats or something?
cheers

The output Jack is on the right pointy thing.
Floyd Rose is pretty easy to replace strings, you just screw something loose at , put the string in and retighten it.
this might help

mmm whats the color of the neck? its a rosewood fretboard.. and ... the color of the neck, is it white? or just a maple color?

Guitar Sushi :
It's like the designer was mentally retarded and offset the neck. What a waste of potential. I wouldn't be caught dead with that guitar.

DIBGuitarist :
Might seem like a stupid question but when tuning up a Floyd-Rose equipped guitar do you have to loosen the string clamps & bolts @ the top of the neck first?
Replys would be appreciated, cheers

YES, GET THE PEAVEY. line 6 and crate suck. and cheap marshalls arent even marshalls anymore (they suck as well) i would go with the peavey all the way.

VikingMetalhead :
"The body of this guitar will throw alot of people off, 'till they strap it on (that is if you strap it on properly, not designed for hanging down by your damn ankles like a slob). The top cut forms to your body very comfortably and the huge wing at the top has a purpose. If it's strapped on properly, and youre looking to shred in a technical way (tremelo picking and whatnot) you will find that your wrist sits perfectly on that wing and alows you to float your pick hand over the strings, perfect!" Very interesting review, first time anyone analysed the body of the WRMG. I'm really excited to go try this one out.
