Features: This is an excellent acoustic electric guitar. It has a very versitile preamp (OP20). Looks beautiful, and very comfortable with the deep bowl which Ovation is known for. The action and setup was great from the factory, and lowering the action even more was just a simple matter of removing a couple shims under the bridge. The biggest plus is the built in chromatic tuner on the preamp...Perfect!
The machine heads (the tuners themselves) aren't really loose or really tight; just right! This thing stays in tune like a beast! // 10
Sound: The sound is great, though a tiny bit lacking on the treble end. I was impressed, though, with the sound from this inexpensive guitar. When plugged in, it sounds immaculate...the pickup is wonderful and puts out a much better sound than when it is unplugged. Don't get me wrong, it does sound good when unplugged, just not perfect! // 8
Reliability & Durability: This thing is very very durable. The acrylic back of the guitar (the bowl) is very resiliant...doesn't show any scratches no matter what. Its got a really good finish. The neck is very sturdy and its strap buttons (which, by the way are designed exactly like those on an electric) are super tight and will never fall off. // 10
Impression: This is definitely my favorite guitar. The tuner is a HUGE plus, and its sound is very nice, especially when plugged in! I would recommend this in a heartbeat.
Oh by the way, music123.com sells all of their Ovations (or most, at least) with very very nice custom SKB hardshell cases...great great great cases! And a guitar and fitted for $350...can't beat it! // 10
