p3rry_punk, it depends on what kind of music you play, if you play metal and harder rock, it id much better, buuuut you can squeeze out classic rock and cleans out of EMG's by just messing with your EQ

This guitar is amazing.....i got it over the summer. The EMGs sound good if your playing metal but if you play like clean stuff, they are so hot that they still have a little bit of distortion tone in the sound. It's good because the battery doesnt wear out too fast.

this axe is by far THE best metal guitar i've ever play or even heard of. I've tried all the great Ibanez's and Jacksons and Gibsons at Guitar Center and this one BLOWS them off the block not to mention it is hundreds of dollars less than those. My favorite guitar. It is perfect in every way, except the finish scratches pretty easy.

Pigsnacks :
I've got a Gibson V and play frequently on a ESP Ltd EC-1000 and a Ibanez Prestige RGT320Q. The Ibanez is not surprisingly the best one of the lot but the Schecter does come fairly close and is a damn sight cheaper. Get one if you love metal or just simply love gutiars.

this guitar looks identical to my ibanez sz520, except mine is blue, and it doesnt have emg's. but i must say, with the RIGHT AMP, you dont need emg's or a 'METAL' guitar. play a mesa rectifier through some duncans and you'll see what i mean.

Honestly, schecter stepped its game up with the EMGs, but its still a schecter. Its a great second guitar to buy, meaning the guitar you should buy after you've mastered the squire strat. The pickups give it some mean tone, but the action still leaves something to be desired. The neck is too fat to slice through the strings. Good rhythm guitar, poor shredding guitar. Get a prestige ibanez RGT 220.

The EMGs on this guitar are amunge the best ive played with. They are robust and give such a crisp sound its unberleavable... I play mine with the old Line 6 Spider 2 212 and the combonaation just blew me away from the moment i stept onto the stage for my first gig with it... simply and awesome guitar

It's $650 at guitar center, where I bought it...I've had this guitar since early January and it's well worth it...EMG's won't let ya down...just a realllly reliable guitrar...recomed it to all metalheads of course...schecter makes some kick ass guitars and this sure is one of 'em!

i just ordered this from musiciansfriend, im so excited. im actually surprised that it costs no more to have the black cherry, usually on gibsons and epiphones it 50-100 bucks more to get a finish, yet their not even as good as this black cherry, its beautiful. at first im sure i'll be a little affraid to play it haha, dont wanna scratch it...but im sure once i start jammin i'll forget it

I dont know what your idea of shredding is but I have no problem whipping out Yngwie and eric johnson on this guitar, maybe you need a bigger pair of hands. I have tested several Ibanez guitars (3+ years worth of shopping around) and am not even impressed with the $1500 Satriani version. might be stepping on some toes here but Ibanez is still bottom of the shit pile for me!

I played a ton of guitars, mostly really high priced and big named guitars and as soon as i picked this gutiar up I loved it...it was loaded out in features but at the same time really cheap for all of its features. I ended up buying this guitar and it has not been a disappointment at all. Everybody that has played it loves it...I highly recomend this guitar to anyone.

For the price this is a great guitar. I'm really getting tired of overpriced guitars. It doesn't matter if anyone recommends it or not. It's all about preference. Schecter went the extra mile with this one.

I've been under the hood and the electronics aren't cheap, it's built very well. I love the thick neck, it's for real shredders not posers that have to run to Ibanez skinny geeky guitars because they really can't play and need all the help they can get. Some of the most overrated guitarists in history play Ibanez.

Anyway, for the price of this guitar I'd put it right up there with ESP's in the same range.

Yeah, I allso want to know why. Becouse the new pickups are even better. They are nearly exactly the same as the normal 81 nad 85 except that it can be tapped.
