Echoes_26 :
I've got an Affinity Fat Strat (Metallic Blue). Pretty good guitar, with my Roland MicroCube. But, it isn't that hard to scratch... my stupid friend scratched it by just playing it.

My first guitar, still playing with it, it has an incredible sound for a Squier, really great, suits any genre.

My first guitar (rosewood w/ black). A lot of people compliment it for some reason. Uh, well, I guess I haven't had such great maintenance with it has a couple of scratches and dents, but I have to travel a lot with it on da subway so stuff happens. No problems yet. The humbucker with 2 single coil pickups is a good setup for versatile players, I guess.

hey, i was wondering if anyone has any good amp suggestions for this guitar. i'd like to upgrade and are there any amps that sound really good w/ this guitar? thanks!

Squirrel I suggest (at least for the price and features) go fore the Line6 Spider III amp series. they are loaded with features, so you don't have to go out and spend a ton on stompboxes. Im getting one and I have used one it is simply great absolutely no complaints.

got a montego black with PLATINUM SPARKLE pickguard. sounds great, too great for a squier, rocks the shit out of my friends fender! minor issue, neck is not as superly glossy as my 80's antoria telstar!

I have an Affinity Fat Strat, I bought mine as a starter pack with the G-DEC Amp. The guitar is fine as a starter instrument however, I upgraded to an MIM Fender Standard Strat and the the only similarity between the two in the basic shape, don't buy a Squier Affinity series thinking you are going to get a guitar made to the same specs as a Fender Strat, you ain't, apart from quality of the fittings and electrics they are cosmetically different as well, the paint work is a lot less resistant to knocks and the the body is a lot thinner. Also there is some confusion as to the wood used, for the record, if you buy an Affinity Strat in a starter pack than the wood is Agathis, if you buy the guitar on it's own then the wood is Alder.

I bought this guitar. It's my first one and I never played guitar before buying this one. That being said, from what I have read and experienced with this guitar. It's not that great. The guitar does have some string noise, tone problems and loose bolts. It's still good as a beginners guitar. But you will want to upgrade in 6 months to a year. Rock on.

i'm looking into getting one of these but i have a few questions: does it come in vintage white? and would it sound any good through my 15 watt bass amp?

if you want a clean sound then yes

otherwise guitars through bass amps dont usually sound good,
at least mine doesnt

This is a great starter guitar imo, but after a while and some experience with other guitars, your definitely going to see what it can do is rather limited.

My bloody fat strat detuned on stage, because I whammied too much. The whammy is useless, but everything else is awesome.
POSTED: 05/26/2009 - 09:39 am / quote |
sid9102 :
I'd be completely happy with this one (my first guitar) if it hadn't detuned DURING a gig. My band lost the contest because the whammy bar makes it detune (we were playing Knights of Cydonia). Other than the whammy, it's an awesome first guitar.
